Could be a few different things. I developed a lot of hormonal inflammation. The nerve pain could inflammation putting pressure on the nerve. Look into a good cold pack to treat. Get the inflammation down, the blood flow stimulation will in turn help with the nerve pain...maybe. Just a thought. I used a great cold back wrap and was able to maneuver it to other parts of the body as needed. Ended up buying wrist wraps too as I later developed carpal tunnel. Take a look at these wrap. I had great results from them.
Back Ice Pack Information
I had similar pains in my left arm a few weeks ago. It was a mixture of pain and my arm feeling like a dead weight. It felt so horrible and I couldn't sleep for the few days I had it, but it reduced of its own accord for some reason. It's very infrequent now for some reason... the dr I saw was very unhelpful as it what it could be... I hope you feel better.
