nervous about ivf funding approval

Hi

me and oh been ttc since october 2009 had all tests done twice as first time round I was discharged as too overweight for any treatment. I have currently lost 66lb and now the right weight. We are unexplained infertility which is very frustrating.

my doctor has finally reffered us for ivf, but I know I need to wait for our ccg to approve it. I have no idea how long this takes, and im already stressing about it and nervous we might not get accepted. I went on the infertility networking site and we meet the criteria, so should be ok shouldn't we?

Has anyone got there own advice in how long it took to get their ivf approved?

Hi Kaye, we were in the same boat as you & I kept going onto the NHS sites to make sure that we qualified for funding we did but I was also worried that there would be something that would mKe them say no.
We were lucky as I rang the clinic to be referred & a few days later we received our certificate of funding & all the paperwork to fill in & sign.
Finger crossed you hear soon as I know that waiting around can be so stressful & it's the last thing you need.

Yes we are having treatment now, i went for my egg collection on Tuesday & we have 4 little embryos which i am really happy about. The clinic are going to ring in the morning to let me know when they want to do the transfer, it will either be tomorrow or Sunday.

Aww wow how exciting. So how has it been with hormones so far with the injections? How was egg collection? Was it just ivf or icsi aswell? Wish you good luck please let me know how you get on.
