I thought I'd be begging for him to go back after 4 weeks off but actually I have no idea how I'm going to cope when goes back next week.

I'm breastfeeding and my LO is either feeding or sleeping or me, he will not be put down, as soon as I put him in the carrycot he will wake up and start crying and want boob again. Sometimes in the morning when he is awake and content to not be on the boob he will sit in the swing for a little while but he doesn't go to sleep in it and I would feel bad leaving him in there for a long time when he's awake to get stuff done.

When we try and go out he will still want to be on me if he wakes up and I don't know how it's going to work getting my DS1 to and from school and attempting to be on time. He won't take a dummy either so its difficult to console him any other way than the boob. This is all new to me as DS1 was formula fed, had a dummy and slept loads so things were much easier.

Don't even get me started on how I'm going to make dinner. I've tried a carrier but as soon as he's on my chest he starts routing for boob and gets upset.

What about a wrap? Much more comfortable than a carrier and you can feed in them too (you can also feed in a carrier, but I don't think it's as easy or as comfortable). It saved my sanity. I got to use the toilet and get things done around the house and had a contented baby. If you try your local sling meet, they should be able to help you with one and help you work out the feeding thing.

:hugs: That's exactly how my first daughter was. She was a very discontented baby unless she was latched on. As much as I am for breastfeeding, I could not stand nursing *literally* around the clock all day and night.

This time around I introduced a pacifier from day one and it's made a world of a difference. Have you tried several different brands of pacifiers? My DD2 really took to the Tommee Tippee pacifiers.

My second son was like that, literally if he was anywhere around me he just wanted boob! It started to get a bit better after about a month I think, so hopefully you won't have much longer of that behaviour and can start to put him down a bit!
