NEW 1st post - HCG question!

Hello Ladies,

I am new to this group and so glad I found it! I have been TTC on and off for 6 years now. This month I had my first round of Femara. I took all 8 pills (20 mg total) on day 3 of my cycle. I also had to give myself HCG injections. Only 1 cc five times after ovulation (on day 1, 3, 5, 7, 9). With that being said, I read somewhere that your body metabolizes 1 cc of HCG per day. My last dose was 1cc on Sunday, which was 4 days ago. I usually have a 26 day cycle (today is 26) so I decided to test...you know how it is...waiting is terrible!! I got a faint positive and was wondering if it was real. I'm trying not to get my hopes up. My doctor stated to wait until 17 days past ovulation, but it doesn't make sense to me because it was only 1cc. Most ladies do a trigger shot with 10,000 cc but this was not a trigger shot. Does anyone have any experience with this? I just pray it is real, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up THank you for any input!

Welcome Tiffany! I don't have any experience with this but based on what I've read on here about others experiences with testing out an HSG shot this is my advice...I would test again each morning and see if the line gets darker (vs lighter). If it's the HSG leaving the line will get lighter; if it's your own HSG increasing from a sticky bean then the line will get darker. Thank you so much for responding! I really appreciate it I was thinking the same thing. I will test again in the morning to see if it's darker or lighter....and hopefully re-gain some sanity. This back and forth mind game is exhausting! I always told myself I would pass out if I ever saw a positive...my heart is still beating so that's a good sign. I am trying my best to give this to God and get some sleep tonight!

I know what you mean about getting a BFP, I think I'll be in denial for a while when I finally get mine. I'll probably test everyday for 2 weeks just to make sure I'm not crazy. Let me know how it turns out. Good luck!
