Hi all, I'm new to baby and bump. Wondering if anyone can help me...Been recommended to change to dr brown bottles for my lb as he suffers from trapped wind and also is sick ALOT after each feed. At the moment I use tommee tippee bottles and he has dentinox to help with the apped wind. This does help but the main reason for wanting to change is because he is so sick all the time. A friend of mine said her lg used to projectile vomit everywhere on tommee tippee bottles but once changing hardly is sick at all. Just want to know what everyone thinks of them before I go and spend the money on them. Also does anyone know if they will fit in the tommee tippee microwave steriliser? Thanks in advance x

I love dr browns. They made so much difference to dd's wind. But theyre really fiddly. You get used to them. They also don't stay sterile out of the steriliser thanks to the three giant holes in the lid, so when going out and about I put teats in a breastmilk bag and seal the bottles and bits with the closing lid. They will fit in the Tommee tippee steriliser, but you may get less bottles in than before thanks to all the bits.

Thanks very much, I think I'm going to go out tomorrow and buy some, and just hope they help. Shame about them not staying sterile but thanks for the heads up on that as I may not have realised. X

I'm afraid I didn't realise they don't stay sterile. I noticed the holes in the Los but just thought it wouldn't make a huge difference, hope that's not really irresponsible! My Hv said after 6months there's no need to sterilise anyway so LO isn't far off that at least

I didn't realise either until someone pointed out to me that bottles and teats need to be sealed to stay sterile and 3 big holes weren't going to mean it was sealed. As long as the closing lids are used then the bottle and bits stay sterile, so that just leaves the teats.

I don't think it really matters too much after 6 months or when they're crawling (though this is coming from the woman who sterilised for a year anyway...).

Absolute crap. Expensive crap. My baby has horrible reflux and it made it worse. Didn't help with gas either. I would recommend only getting one and wash a bunch of times before investing in a bunch of them. My baby does better with the playtex bottles we started with so we went back to them.

I've used them from about 4 or 5 weeks and noticed a difference over night. Love them and I don't find them too fiddly x

They're okay, LO still has gas & burps like crazy after a feed lol I've been using 4 diff bottle brands so far & my LO likes avent the best.

LOVE mine.

You might also require a comfort milk for your baby, which is a thicker formula. If you do use DR Browns, dont be put off about buying bigger teats as its harder to get the thicker liquids out. Louie is size 4 Dr Brown teats- the biggest you can get. Although, you can get y shaped ones for thicker formula too. I bought my bottles from boots and my teats from Amazon.

Deffo check out the website! https://www.drbrowns.co.uk/products.php

They are a lot of effort to clean as they have many parts but you will notice the difference!

Louie has Dr browns with C&G comfort milk & colief.

I wou;dnt be without my bottles! You do need to be more careful with them- dont put hot liquid in them as the pressure makes them leak. Warm water (previously boiled and cooled) is best or microwave cooled water.

Also, if they really start to leak (like mine did) I phoned the company up and they sent me free replacement parts. x

I use dr browns and playtex ventair with my son and i love them. Both work good, but the playtex isnt nearly as expensive :p

I have a really hard time getting lo to burp when she drinks from the Dr. Brown's bottles and at first I thought maybe it's just that she doesn't need to burp because she didn't take in air while eating, well air or not she still needs to burp. I got a few Avent bottles (the anti-colic kind with the ring in them at the base of the nipple) and she does a little better with those. So, eh, they're ok I guess but my lo still gets trapped wind using them. Oh, also, if you'll be using powdered formula you can't shake the dr. brown's bottles or they'll leak, you have to premix the formula then pour it in or stir it with a spoon.
