I am starting as a corrections officer soon and the training requires weapons training. Should I be padding my tummy from noise???? I mean, I will have ear muffs I'm sure, but baby can hear too and those things are loud! Is my tummy enough of a sound damper against many gun shots???? I'm sure if I ask then they will say I will be fine, but I feel like that just means I care more about it than they do, you know?

Moms are probably laughing at me, but I tend to be over-cautious if possible. Like no caffeine, etc. I know many do just great with caffeine and their babies are fine, but I just can't do it. This is kind of like that for me. I'm not judgmental about other moms, just careful myself. Any advice or opinions on this would be great. Am I being TOO cautious about this one?

I just left my job as a co. You will be fine. I was not pregnant, but you'll be fine.

I've heard that our tummy provides enough "padding" so that it wouldn't "hurt" their ears or cause damage, but you could always check with your doctor to be sure.

Congrats on the new job!! I remember you from your other posts so I'm really happy you've found a good job, hope things continue to go well for you! :)

Thanks, and they are! My husband just applied to a state trooper position today that I know he would be perfect for, so I am excited. And I spoke with my aunt (who is a corrections officer) and I guess I can pace myself on the training, and don't have to take the firearm training for a whole year. So while I really want to just get down and dirty and wrestle and shoot and get all trained NOW, I can wait ^_^. Thanks everyone!!

That's good to know. I might avoid the firearms training for now, at least the part where you are shooting. I'm sure a lot of it is just firearm safety and handling so you could always just do that part, and save the practice for after the baby comes.

So happy for you, hope your hubby gets the state trooper job!! :) Good luck!
