I've been trying to conceive for 9 months now, which I know isn't long for many, but it's been long enough to drive me a little crazy. I have one seven-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old stepson. I guess it's hard because I've been pregnant only through rape in my life and this is my first time trying in a healthy, consensual relationship and something's not working. My cycles are highly irregular, some months it's 32 days and other times it's 40 days so I've had lots of false hopes only to get negatives all the time. Anyway, would love to encourage others and get some encouragement myself if possible!!

Hi there 9 months is certainly a long time, I am sorry to hear that and terribly sorry to hear that you were raped that has got to be the hardest thing to get through so you must be a strong woman. I have a 6 year old daughter and a 3 year old daughter from a previous marriage and today marks CD1 of my 2nd cycle TTC my 3rd. Any clue as to why your cycles might be irregular? I just went to the Dr. for my annual and she informed me that if your cycles are over 35 days you might not be releasing an egg, just an FYI. I am not sure how accurate that information is but maybe something you would like to get checked out. Where are you in your cycle? I wish you the best of luck in this journey and would love to be TTC buddies if you care to.

Thanks so much for the response baby love! I wasn't sure if I'd hear back from anyone. I hope that you are able to conceive too! It'll be exciting to see what happens, and how soon either of us has luck I'm on cycle date 31, and I think I ovulated somewhere around the 14-16th day of my cycle because I was taking the clear blue ovulation kits and I got the smiley face all three of those days. I've tested today and yesterday with first response tests and got negatives both times.

I have definitely wondered if I'm not actually releasing an egg, and I visited an OB/GYN but she wasn't that helpful. I'm a military wife and sometimes the medical personnel aren't as helpful as civilian ones because they aren't trying as hard to get your business maybe. I'm not sure. Anyway, I mentioned all of this and she didn't really say anything. I just got the results back from my pap smear and it was normal. She also said my ovaries and uterus felt normal. Basically all she said was if I hadn't conceived in a year then to go ahead and contact a fertility specialist. My husband is deploying in October and will be gone for six months and we are hoping to get pregnant before that time, but we'll see.

Well that's great news that you are getting positive OPK's that must mean that you are ovulating. I have military friends and I have heard about the healthcare that is available to them, some of the stories I have heard is BS. Seeing a fertility specialist is expensive and there are some things an OBGYN can do prior to you seeing a FS so I would definitely try to squeeze as much out of her as I could. You still have 7 months before October, I am sure you will conceive by then, I have faith in you!!! Best of luck to you also!

Thank you! I hope so! I've read that you can get positive OPK's without ovulating because you can still produce leutenising hormone without ovulating. That's what I'm worried is happening, but I'm hoping not. We'll find out eventually hopefully!

I would use fertility friend and chart your + /- s that way it's easier to see and you may be able to get a better idea of when you O.

Symptoms & BBT

CD1-5 /AF (Feb 27th)
CD7-9 /no cm (cd 9-temp was 97.7
CD10 /creamy cm & (Temp-97.5)
CD11 /creamy cm 97.5
CD12 /creamy cm 97.7
CD13 /creamy cm 97.3
CD14 /creamy cm 97.7
CD15 /creamy cm 97.3
CD16 /creamy cm 97.6
CD17 /creamy cm 97.4
CD18 /creamy cm 97.4

CD19 /dry and tight cervix 97.5.... Queasy right after BD when I stood up. Decreased appetite. Headache. Extremely full feeling and bloating this evening like I drank way too much water, but I barely ate this day or drank liquids. Very Gassy. Pain on right side of abdomen.Nausea all day (gagging only/never vomited).

CD20 /creamy cm 97.5 still bloated/full feeling. Tingly nipples. No appetite. Gassy. Tired. Acne on my belly over belly button(that's a 1st!).

CD21 / creamy cm 97.7 Woke up to my daughter cooking breakfast as usaual and all I could smell was the smell of a hospital. Best way to describe it. Heightened sense of smell. Low abdominal pulling. Queasy right after BD when I stood up. Decreased appetite. Headache.Very Gassy. Nausea this morning (gagging only/never vomited).

CD22 / did not check cm/ felt like EWCM tho. Temp spike of 98.4!!! A little nauseous (gagging only/no vomit)

All temps were taken at the same time everyday. I am currently taking Fertibella. Waiting til March 30th to . Pray for me as it is not easy to wait with so many symptoms.

Just talked to my mother in law, who is a midwife, and she says a lot of women who drink licorice root tea can help to regulate their cycles and improve their reproductive health. I'm going to look for some today!

Tried to wait til Saturday to test. Symptoms were overwhelmingly there. Plus I work on Saturday, but I am off Friday/tomorrow, so I decided to test today and guess what??....
