I've just been and bought a new rug for my living room and its 100% wool.

I got it home and thought it needed a quick hoover so did, as I hoovered I noticed lots of loose bits coming off it and just thought its normal!

When I'd finished I opened my filter/dust bucket on my hoover and the whole thing was full of wool. Its like candy floss!

I've just checked the website and it says prof clean only - I'm assuming thats if you wanted it washed?

Have I just ruined it by hoovering or is it normal for a woolen rug to malt so much on the first hoover?
I'm in two minds wether to take it back as I don't want clumps of wool flying round when my LO comes?

Any Advice?

yeah its normal, like when u get new carpets fitted loads of fluff comes up to start with.

yeah the proffessional cleaning means for washing it, as wool needs different chemicals to other rugs.

It will settle down quickly, just keep hoovering it.
