I have just been diagnosed with grade 3 endo (moderate) via a Lap. :cry:I am very new to this condition and am a bit taken aback that I have it, but I am told its a very common problem with infertile women. My RE was able to excise quite a lot and bring it down to grade 2 but was unable to remove the endo on the bowels. She is now suggesting I go on Lupron Depot shots for 3 months to dry up the rest. I am not too thrilled about these shots as I know they have horrible side effects. Any ladies got pg with stage 2 endo. I have had a chemical pregnancy last month with all the problems so am wondering if by removing atleast some endo my chances are better. Anyone taken these shots. Can anyone share their experiences of endo with me

Hey,
I have endo. Was diagnosed Stage 3 Endo via lap 4 weeks ago. Still getting endo pains now. Been ttc for 9 months and just onto 10th month.
I'm sure our chances will be better as some/all has been removed.
Did they say what your ovaries/tubes and uterus were like? Was there any endo there?...
Feel free to join this thread if you wanna talk to us... xx

Ive been on the shots, i went on zoladex, very similar, i was a grade 4. I went straight to ivf hun as my endo was aggressive and was growing in a matter of weeks after surgery. So i was on zolly after surgery and straight to ivf when it was time.

That second website is great, i think its called endo your not alone. Thats a fab forum and i learnt so much.

fertility should improve after lap, but if you have male factor also and the only option is IVF, I'd go for the meds! that's what I should've done as i had stage 3 lasered off completely in Jan and the endometrioma i had removed was back in April exactly 3 months later.... buserelin ( used for Down regulation in ivf) helped a bit but still not completely gone!

Thanks for your inputs ladies:hugs:

Brumbar- No- we do not have male factor. DH spermies are normal. Infact we conceived on an IUI last month but it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy

Floofymad- The endo was on the ovaries and uterus but the doc was able to remove all that. SHe said they dont touch the vital organs during surgery hence she did not touch endo on the bowels

I was also diagnosed with PID which has damaged my tubes a bit but they are open. They are not the best but do is unsure of the damage. That is why she wud like to try a couple of IUIs and then move on to the IVF.

My dilemma is whether to take the lupron depot shots or go in for IUI/IVF straight

Dilek- Can u pls tell me what side effets u had from the shots? How long was the course and did they put u on HRT/calcium supplements.

Am looking at some natural remedies for endo. Maybe they help:shrug:

looknomore - I've been looking into natural remedies too. Reflexology, Accupuncture and Reiki are supposed to be good.
I'm trying Dong Quai, Evening Primrose Oil and Vit B Complex. Want to try Agnus Cactus and Black Cohosh but afraid they're gunna mess up my cycles.
I had endo on my bladder and they removed that, the bladder symptoms I was getting have gone but the rest of the pain hasn't.
We don't have male factor - OH is just ok in that department

Heya i was just about to have a lap a week after finding out i was pregnant!

I sufferd terrible terrible pains for months after having the coil fitted went for a scan and was diognosed with "suspected endo" caused by the coil.

It took around 2months to concieve oscar we werent trying and i was convinced i would never ever be able to have children the pain i had every single month was horrendous the lower back ache before my period caused me to take 4 co codamol a day and sleep for days until it went i was bed ridden and the pain around my ovarys was horrible im really not looking forward to it coming back! :(

Good luck hun and dont give up hope it doesnt mean the end at all!

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining in this thread.
I have been to see a consultant today as I have suspected endo and had an endometrioma on my right ovary (quite small) show up on an ultrasound. I suspect that I have it on my bladder and or bowels and I wondered if others who have suffered with this can share some symptoms? The consultant fobbed me off with pills for IBS and tiold me he will not do anything else until we hgave been TTC for an year so am feeling pretty frustrated! We have been TTC for 8 months now. Thank you!

God that sucks! I can sympathise there as I was told to go away as well and told that over 50% of abdo pain has no cause. :growlmad:
I had endo on my bladder and it caused me to wee lots and have really excessive thirst for months. Seriously, I was drinking constant water and juice and never stopped feeling thirsty! Also had a tender bladder and it felt very strange/tickly?? when I pressed in that area.
I didn't have it on my bowels, as far as I am aware, so can't help you there.
GL ttc'ing, we're onto our 10th month trying :hugs:

Hun i was on them 2 times and for 4 months each time. I remember i use to have this table regarding the side effects and i must admit i could have ticked them all but some were minor than the rest. Ill see if i can track that down.

My main side effects and remember getting straight away was a headache, it was my 1st symptom and it went away after a week or 2. The one that stayed with me the whole time was the dazed feeling, i kinda lost my bubbly personality and was not really there if u no what i mean. Sex drive at the beg is maxed at the beg and then thats it its gone!!! You get quite dry down there. I didnt gain any weight cause i was hitting the gym allot, also i think my boobs got a tad bigger. Thats about it really. They inject it in your tummy and its a size of a rice and i tell u no it kills like crazy, im pretty tough and depending on the gyno injecting and if they did a good job or not i would end up crying. Ive heard the other one does not hurt as much. Ive also read that sometimes 1 drug works than the others. So if u do go for it, and u try one type and u think its not working ask to be injected the other ones.

I just hated not being me and being my bubbly outspoken self, and the sex drive was annoying. We were newly married. Poor hubby.

Dr didnt tell me about supplements but i did take evening primose oil for the 1st lost of 4 months and also calcium tablets.

My cousins wife is on depot shots another one and she hasnt had these side effects. She is taking it so she doesnt fall preggo and not for endo reasons. not sure if this makes a difference.

I had it on my bowels and it really did hurt when i had to go for number 2. Like i had to run to the loo. Like there was real pressure then and sometimes i was in agony and i was never constipated. Like a dragging and pulling sensation. Its so true what they say pregnancy eases the symptoms girls, i havnt had any issues since falling pregnant and im dreading when i give birth.

Yeah that's what I've been told. Please tell us how you did it tho?! It's not working!.............:wacko::wacko::cry::cry::cry:

How did i fall pregnant? Is that the question. I never ttc naturally endo too aggressive, ivf was our only option.

Thanks. Hope you didn't mind me asking. Just considering our options at the moment. :flower: Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months! x x

I have a question for you Dilek- Did u go for the GnRh analogue before ur IVFs. Did the GnRh ease ur bowel endo symptoms. Did ur RE recommend going in for IVf without the GnRha but after the surgery to remove ur endo.

I am in a bit of confusion as I want to try IVF but without the GnRha. The only endo I also have left is on my bowels. But the doc thinks its not very aggressive.

xx
