Me and Poppy are on week 2 of weaning and so far so good. I've just done my first 'batch' of food (carrot) and just wondered if i can keep it in the fridge for 24 hours rather than freezing it? Just seemed silly freezing then defrosting for her feed tomorrow morning?

Can fresh puree keep 24 hours? Then i guess freezing is best after that?

Also do you sterilize? As she's breastfed i don't sterilize anything so far, and have just been washing her weaning things with boiling soapy water?

thanks!

I think 24 hours in fridge is fine. Probaby retains a few more nutrients that way aswell.. :)

I dont think its necessary to sterilise food things because the food its self its sterile.

The purees will be fine in the fridge for 24 hours hun, i started sterlizing all the food things but i give up in the end so dont sterilize them anymore x x

Of course it is fine in the fridge for up to 48hrs. Wouldn't you keep your own foo dleftovers inthe fridge for 48hrs if they are fresh.

I have never sterilised any feeding stuff other than bottles of course. HTH
