helloo
just wondering if anyone has had to get a passport for their baby pretty much after they had them and if so how did you do the photo??

ive had some done today and ive attached them so you can see
(please tell me if you think they will be good enough or not)
if the white sheet in the background is a problem i can edit it so you cant see no creases so thats alright.

obviously i cant get her to keep her eyes open as she's only 4 days old! but i have read online with a newborn it dont matter if the eyes are shut just aslong as its a clear headshot? i need the passport for beginning october also :/

thankyou :) x

Not sure if its ok for them to have their eyes closed hon.

I had Sophie's done at Max Spielman - £5. They lay her on a white beanbag and cut and cropped the photos after.

It is fine for them to have their eyes closed. I just looked at Charlie's passport and the background is creased on his so they should be fine. Charlie's only took a week to arrive from when I sent it off.

They are quite strict about the paper it is printed on so if you edit and print at home there could be some issues.

Good thread! I need to know this too. We're taking LO to Spain in December and i've been dreading getting the passport photos sorted! xx

Guidelines for children's passport photos are : -

Photographs of children five years and under must show a clear image that is a true likeness of the child. As young children can be difficult to photograph, children aged five and under do not need to have a neutral expression or to look directly at the camera, but they must face forward.
In addition to the exceptions above, babies under one year old do not need to have their eyes open (however it is preferable for eyes to remain open). All other standards must be met. If the baby’s head needs to be supported, it is important that your supporting hand cannot be seen.
If you have real difficulty in meeting these conditions, you should visit a photographic studio rather than a photo booth.

not sure about the background but the face looks the same as Che's which was accepted.

We got his done at Jessops and they lay them down on a white flat beanbag thing!

I did Lucie at home and they accepted it.

went my eldest was 3 months old we had hwrs done at a chemist where they actually take the photo and i just sat on the floor and held her from beneath and surporting her head. where did you get yours done? x

Omg so cute hehe! I think it is silly though that you have to have a photo passport for a baby though.

i had her photos done in the pharmacy, but we just put a white sheet in the car seat behind her head to take the photo
sent the form off today so fingers crossed comes back all ok :)

thanks for all the help everyone, very appreciated xx

I used Paspic.com. You take the pic, upload it, they sort out the dimensions, tell you if there's any problems (if so, they have you resubmit pics) and then mail it to you. I laid Jack in his cot (cream sheet) and took the pic. I got them to do the different sizes required for his UK and US passports.

Freddies are pretty similar, he had his at 2 weeks....eyes are shut with a crumpled white background.....I did check and send and had it back to me within 5 days!!!!! (that was last week) They arent fussy about baby pics....just no parents hands in them etc. x

I had mine done at Jessops and yes their eyes can be closed!

my Lo had his done yesterday at Walgreens, they laid him down on a white sheet. he was very well behaved, smiled and looked right at the camera lol

the pictures you have look fine make sure you get them printed and cut the right size though so that they will accept them.

Got number one's done when she was 2 weeks old...
Snappy snaps did it. In the end they gave me a discount as she just slept on the floor as the picture was taken and normally they have to charge more with struggling children!!

My poor little girl will be stuck with a picture of her looking like a cross between an old man and a pink squishy maggot until she is 5 years old.... I might just renew it when shes 5.... then she'll have to have it until she's 10. Mean mummy!
