My baby is 6 months old and for the last 2 weeks she has been waking up 2-3 times a night crying hysterically. We try to feed her, talk to her, pat and nothing works. She is actually asleep while she's crying and we can't wake her up from it. We just have to wait for it to go away, usually about 10-15 minutes. She sleeps in the same room as us right next to our bed so when she wakes we wake.

Could she be having night terrors this early in life? Does anyone else's LO do this?

i forgot to mention that it happens out of nowhere and just as fast it's done and she is back to sleeping peacefully.

Ye my LO does this, she's done it 3 times so far, it's very random and scary as she is usually a peaceful sleeper! Literally I run up stairs and grab her out of her cot and cuddle her to calm her the put her back down....

I don't know what causes it but I txt a few of my friends with older babies and they've experienced it too, so guess its nothing to worry about! It's just not pleasant seeing them in such hysterics! X

My lo started doing something similar at 8/9 months....he's still doing it now. My hv said it could be night terrors or something to do with the transition to a different stage of sleep. I'm inclined to say night terror though. It's awful when he has them. He is so sweaty and doesn't react to anything. I can take him downstairs and everything and he doesn't snap out. I can yell his name and he doesn't snap out. He tgrashes about, his eyes roll back (I have an eye open sleeper) they are horrible. Can sometimes take me best part of an hour to bring him out of it.-

After I've brought him out, I do him some milk, change his bum (if needed) change his clothes (he can be wringing wet with sweat) give him a sleepy cuddle then it's back to bed
