Hi,
I've just started using these as baby was struggling to latch on/stay latched on. He did really well the first few feeds but I've noticed tonight that the shields were slipping down a bit. This makes me wonder if baby is getting any milk frm me,or using the shield as a dummy. I was pretty certain I coukd feel him sucking, butnow I dnt know.
We are topping his feeds uo with ebm..
How can I stop the shields moving and how do ii no if he's feeding properly?
Thanks xx

you can put some drops on the sheild to sort of keep it in place (like suction). With a sheild, you should still see the sucking/swallow motion and milk in the shield. I used one with DD1.

I used to dip mine in cooled boiled water and they stuck better. However I did have to use one hand to hold them in place to start with as they do move.

Also I was told to only use them until the nipple had healed then stop as they are only a temporary measure but some women use them throughout with no problems. I found the longer I used them the harder it was to wean lo off them.

Well done for sticking with bf'ing though...it's so tough
at times.

X
