I wonder if this is one of those lovely language perks of the Japanese.
I had my scan today and the doctor said our baby doesn't have a penis yet.
On the ultrasound it was pretty clear that there was no boy parts but the doctor was really reluctant to 'Confirm' that it was a girl.
I asked my buddy that has 2 boys here... and even though they were both OBVIOUSLY boys from really early on, they wouldn't confirm them until like 34 weeks.
I think part of it has to do with the Japanese tendency to not want to say yes or no for anything. So I think a 'probably' from a Japanese person is a pretty solid 'yes'. lol
