I have just been referred to CARE in Northampton (ridiculously excited about that)! I need some blood tests next month, and then the referral form will be sent off.
How long did any of you have to wait for your first appointment?? Is it a long wait like the NHS clinic?? Thanks!!!! Xxx

I honestly don't know but wanted to wish you luck! what are their consultation prices like? I'm switching to NGH from KGH once i've had my appointment in june for the results of HSG - but would be interesting to know what CARE's prices are like x

Hello I think the initial consultation is £175. But I'm being funded so won't have to pay. Has been a long and painful 2 and a half years, but hopefully will be worth it now x

Just noticed you have been trying for 12 years! I can't imagine what you have been through.... But wish you all the best!! Have you been under a specialist all that time? X

I was initially under KGH with my Ex who had azoospermia and i wasn't ovulating regularly - but our only option after initial testing was ICSI with TESE - i was 23! The age restriction with northants PCT was 30 and over! So basically i was never seen again and told to come back when i was 30! when i was 29 my relationship broke down (i won't bore you with the details) and i never made the top of that list. I met DH 5 years ago and had been trying to let nature take it's course but eventually sought testing again 18 months ago - all normal! Eventually diagnosed 'unexplained' in october last year. however HSG revealed this week both my tubes were blocked so it was never going to happen! But the HSG unblocked the left one but the right is questionable and dye couldn't pass and i won't get the full results til june 25th!

Hope you get the results you need next month!! I can't believe they used to have an over 30 age restriction... I'm so glad that's not the case now. Waiting another 4 years would be unbearable.... You've done so well to cope this far! What an inspiration! X
