Not good News - Now time for a Rant

I only said yesterday that I wasn't feeling pregnant. I guess I was right as I started to bleed last night. No Pain or anything yet, but it is really heavy with clos so I'm not feeling positive about it.

So sorry your going through this worry hun its the worst kind of worry there is for a woman ive been there 3 times now. Alls i can say is keep rested untill u can get in for ur scan, bleeding can be caused by all kinds of things hun. Ive got everything crossed for u x x x x x

Hubby took me straight to A&E last nite and they basically said they couldn't do a scan until monday as the department is closed from 5:30 WTF!!!! Hubby was livid that all they did was tell us to go home. Last time this happened my doc couldn't get me in for an emergency scan direct as you have to have a bed As the ward was closed he wrote a letter for me to take to A&E, from there I had to wait 2 hrs for a bed on gyn and then 4 hrs on the ward to then be sent for my scan. My doc is pissed off that he can't send me direct. There are no EPU units in my area either although the doc on A&E gave me the fetal unit number only to tell me that they don't open until Monday at 9:30. Its just a waiting game until Monday. I haven't had the same feeling of it falling out yet like I did last time so if i'm still bleeding on monday i'll go to the docs.

Sorry you are going through this. Is really crap that the services are 9-5 Monday to Friday when life just isn't like that! Take care.

Hi All, just to give you a quick update. I'm still bleeding but theres a lot of clear in it with only very small clots. I've got no pain at all and nothing noticeable has been passed. Hubby has rung up nenedoc to find out what to do so i'm just waiting for a doc to phone me back. Still not feeling positive but I just need to know.

Hope its nothing to worry about and that the doctor can help. When I had my 1st m/c I went to a&e and was told they couldn't scan me as the epu was closed though they was able to fit me in for a scan on the Sunday even though the epu was supposed to be closed that day.

Try and push for a scan hun and hopefully the doctor will help. x

Well I got the call from the doctor and they got me to go to the local out of hours doctors surgery. They are a bit concerned that if I am having a MC then it hasn't passed yet and a few twinges on my right hand side so they spoke to the ward and they said i could have a bed straight away BUT it was on the maternity ward. NO way am I going to sleep on that ward tonight, so they said i could come home and the fetal heart unit would ring me tomorrow to get me in for an emergency scan. I am prepared for the bad news, its just the not knowing at the moment.

I can't believe they offered you a bed on the maternity ward, that would be so hard for you. Hopefully you get a scan first thing so you know one way or another. Fingers crossed for you.

Just waiting for the call now. I bet they won't ring for a while which is going to drive me mad On the positive side though, the bleeding has eased off loads to only a small amount when I wipe. HURRY UP UNIT AND RING ME!!!!

I really need to have a rant now.

Yesterday I was told that the fetal heart unit would phone me first thing to give me a time for my scan. Well by 10:30 I still hadn't heard anything so I rang them up. Gave the lady my name and she went away and got my details and she told me I was booked in to 9am tomorrow WTF!!!!!!! I explained to her that I had been to the our of hours doctor yesterday and that they informed me that I was going to be given a scan today. Her reply was that if they thought it that bad then they would have kept me in. This was the point where I started to get rather upset. I told her that they offered me a bed yesterday but it was on the maternity unit, but they understood why I might not want to stay in so they were happy for me to go home but to go straight to A&E if the pain got worse. I was nearly in tears at this point only to be told, 'we can squeese you in today but it means cutting someones appointment short and you don't want that, do you!!!'. I reluctantly accepted the 9am tomorrow and burst into tears when I was off the phone.

Phoned hubby who was furious and who turned up on the doorstep ten minutes later to give me a big hug.

He phoned the unit back and spoke to a very nice midwife who he explained the situation to and she explained that the reason I was given 9am tomorrow was so that I had a 'Full' appointment. She has booked me in for 2:30 today and they will fit me in, even if it is just for the scan. It turns out that the unit don't phone patients so there is a lack of communication there within the different areas.

I'm going to phone my doctors and get them to put a complaint in as I was not happy with the unit and how they were with me

Rant over now. Hopefully I will get some answers later.

oh honey, i am so sorry you had to deal with all of that i mean, as if you werent stressed and worried enough without having to deal with that!! how dare she try to guilt trip you!!

Im so glad youve got a scan appointment today and i really really hope its good news hun the fact that the bleeding has almost stopped and that you havent passed any tissue has got to be a good sign! how far along are you? Keep us updated xxx
