Does anyone elses babies go 48 hours or more without pooping? I am getting very worried and i think she is uncomfortable. Is this normal? Is therre something I can do?

It can be normal, but if your little one seems uncomfortable then you could try lightly massaging her tummy using circular motions and offering cooled boiled water to help things get moving (1-2oz spread throughout the day should be plenty, anymore could be potentially harmful).
When she does open her bowels, if it is soft then pooping every 2 days is most likely normal for her. However if it is firm or pellet like then chances are she is constipated and you should consult your doctor. xxx

My baby has gone 3 days without pooping one time. I asked his dr and she said it was normal for some babies. Since then, he has started going about once every 24 hours. You can also try "bicycle legs" with your baby, or putting her bum in a bucket of warm water. It was also suggested by my mother and my baby's dr to use a rectal thermometer to "get things moving" but that suggestion did not work for my baby.

My little girl poos everyday & twice a day, but I do remember with my second daughter she hadnt done a poo for 2 days so I was told to move her legs around like riding a bike, gets the bowl movement going, it worked wonders!

And you could also add a little extra water to her bottles!

All the best x

I agree - a small amount of cooled boiled water really helps. Even though its normal for babies to go longer without pooping, if my son goes over 24 hours without pooping, he gets really frustrated!

My health visitor said its normal for babies to go a couple days without pooping! She said give a little water if poop is hard x
