but im looking for a contract phone and as my OH wants a playstation 3 so bad for a long time im thinking of getting a contract phone where you get the free gift of the ps..
does anyone know if there is any kinda con with these things?lol x

The only thing is, the contracts are normally 18-24 months, you get a cheap phone too, not a top of the range thing.

I don't think there's a con, but to get the free gifts you usually have to get a contract that's about £35-£40 at least, depending on the freebie. but if you don't mind spending that much on one then i'd say go for it x

It isn't a free gift, they charge you more for your contract in order to "pay" for the so called free gift. My mum did this and got a "free" PSP with her phone which she then gave to me, but in order to qualify for the "free gift" she had to pay an extra 10 pounds a month on her contract.

Tbh, you end up paying more in the long run, but it's handy because it comes out your bank each month and you don't really notice you're paying it. So it's up to you to weigh the pros and cons for yourself, such as:

Can you afford an extra cost on your contract?
Would you prefer to just buy the PS3 seperately?

yeah that's not bad at all, just make sure all the prices are right before you agree to the contract my OH got a contract for £20 a month & got about £80 cashback so that wasn't too bad x

oh thats really good..so basically he didnt have to pay for the phone for 4months coz they gave him the money to pay his billx

No you'll pay the 25, but really without the PS3 part, the contract would probably only be worth maybe 15 of that, so you'll get 15 pounds worth of calls/texts in contract equivalent, whatever it may be, and then the other tenner will be for the PS3. They do it kinda sly, but it's still worth it if you're adamant that you want the PS3.

BUT! I think, and I stress the word think, that if you end the contract early, ie don't last it until it's complete, you will either have to pay the remainder of the cost of the PS3 or return it. Kinda sh*t, but ok if you're definitely going to see it through to the end of the contract xx

£25 with a free ps3 sounds fab to me!. For that amount of stuff. My mum only gets that many mins for £35 a month with no ps3!

I'm not so sure its a good deal at all. An LG Cookie on pay as you go can be bought for £50. But if you're happy with the price plan and all then go for it
