Okay. I really really want a baby again. I've got two. and right now may not be the best time I admit. But for some reason I REALLY want one. I think it's because I had a miscarriage in october ( I didnt even know I was pregnant!). And I miss/want that feeling of happiness that you get when you find out your pregnant. My first two were unplanned. And thus I had some issues at first being a young mother, but I honestly feel like I can handle a third child, as I am handling the two I have pretty well! Sickness and in health, as corny or weddingish as that sounds I'm committed to my children and husband.
The hubby REALLY doesn't want more kids just yet, and he said if I ever forgot to take my birth control or didn't for some reason, we just wouldn't have sex, basically forcing me to not have sex or be on birth control. Which I hate having to remember. The kids are living at my dad's it's a bit of a sticky situation with the children's aid in this area, they seem to twist words and such. Has anyone had that problem? Children's aid are liars. Anyways. So my father has custody. We can get custody back as soon as my father says we can. And right now we are 90% closer to getting them back than we were 3 months ago, and I can't wait I really really want a baby. It's driving me nuts!! Every month I'm testing even though I'm on Birth Control. Because I'm scared I'll be pregnant and not know it, and cause myself to have a miscarriage. again.
My hubby suggested maybe getting a puppy and then seeing if I still want a baby. Should we buy a puppy?? Or just wait until we can have kids? It should be before summer or even spring when we get them back!

its ur choci if ud rather have a baby or puppy but ur DH seems pretty addement bout no more children, have u explained 2 him how u feel?? where u on BC when u fell preg last time?? xx

Hey Shadowsilk, it sounds like you are in a bit of a tough situation. I know it's not what you want to hear but right now I would say wait. Its not fair to force a baby on anyone who isn't ready. I know how tough that can be as it took about two years for my hubby to agree that it was the 'right time' to start trying. You've been lucky to a degree (it sounds like things have been real tough), but you do have two kids - some people don't get that lucky - and you say you are on the verge of getting custody back. Why don't you focus on them; I don't know what age they are, but if they are coming back to live with you and find there is a new baby in the house as well, well its a lot of adjusting for them maybe?

I hope you find the right answer for you and your family and I hope my frankness doesn't offend or upset you. Best of luck xx

It doesn't upset me it's what I needed to hear, thanks muchly. :D My kids are 14 months and 28 months.

I'm really glad I didn't upset you. I genuinely hope things work out right for you xx

hey do you think maybe your broodiness is due to the fact you dont have your kids at home at the minute? I agree id try and wait. Maybe have a sit down with your husband again and explain how your feeling. I can see why he suggested a puppy. I think your having a tough time and you want to something to look forward to which is understanding!:hugs:

I imagine most people who have viewed this topic and chose not to respond are thinking the same as me. One word: Wait. Get a puppy (though puppies can be taken away by the Powers That Be too so be careful...)

Good luck ...

I dont think a puppy is the answer either. Puppies are soon dogs and the novelty of mothering them wears off and they end up where one of my dogs came from - unwanted in a rescue.

Wait and use you energy to get your existing kids back first - esp if your husband doesnt want more.

I hope it all works out for you. :)

I'll ditto this!

Yes, you're totally right ... my little jack russell is reading this and is nodding wisely in agreement!

I wish the novelty wore off for us all......
No just kidding, I love all four of my furbabies, and they never can do wrong in my eyes (says me who's replaced 5 pairs of the same shoes in total!!-because she loves them)

But it is a HUGE commitment to own so many pets, and it's not for everyone

I wish you all the luck trying for your new baby, when the time is right
:hugs:

:laugh2: It's not worn off here either!!

I wouldn't neccessarily say no to a puppy. Friends of mine who would like a baby but aren't in the financial situation yet got a kitten which I thought was insane! While it hasn't stopped her nagging me to make her an aunty and it hasn't stopped her broodiness she swears it is great practice as she has to keep him from getting places he shouuldn't and they can't go away overnight without arranging a sitter etc. Whatever is right for you - could you 'borrow' a friends for the weekend perhaps and see if you like having a pet?

well. I grew up with pets since I was born.
I had a dog, and a cat when I was born. Cat got old and died, and we got another one before she died. I didnt like cats as much though. Magnum the dog, had to be put down when I was 8, so I got fish and a rat. I was going to get a gerbil but the pet store staff said it's better to get a rat... more friendly. So she died, and 3 years later we got another dog!! I love having dogs, but the dog is now living with my dad, and he's getting on in his years. Less playful with the kids. He isnt mean to them though.
I just wish I had one here. I guess I'm lonely. sometimes.:wacko::-({|=
