Hey,

Would appreciate any advice.

I've just left a postgraduate course, and am now left without an income (previously income came from student loans, which will obviously now stop). My OH can't support us both on his salary at the moment, and I've only got enough money left to pay my half of all of next months bills. After that, i have no idea.

As far as I can make out, I'm not entitled to any government help.

I've been applying for jobs, and I know this is the answer, but what happens if I can't get one? What are we going to do?

xx

if your oh isnt earning enough for you both to live on then you should be entitled to something, have you called tax credits?

Thanks :) No, we're not entitled to tax credits because I'm not working x

but your oh can claim as he is working and on low income hun x

I just did the tax credits eligibility questionnaire, pretending I was my partner and got this response: Sorry, because you don’t have children and you’re under 25, you probably don’t qualify for tax credits unless both of the following apply:

* your partner (if you have one) is 25 or over
* they normally work over 30 hours a week

I'm not over 25 either, and not working.

Thanks for your help. Let's hope I can get a job x
