Our lo's measured 3.5mm at 12w6. No other markers were found within the bloods/scan, infections were ruled out and I had a phonecall within two days (despite them saying up to 10 working days) that my risk on that alone was 1:45, I'm 27. We have been referred for a specialist heart scan at 16 weeks as we were told a heart defect could cause a build up of fluid too. We have been offered the amino but we're waiting to see what the heart scan comes back with first. Sorry you're going through this it's so scary. To be honest it's stopped us telling people and building any connection with baby when everything is so uncertain still and we don't know what we're dealing with. I've googled and googled and googled.. There's people with 1:5 risk who's kids have been fine and people have been told they have an almost 0 risk factor and have gone on to give birth to a child with downs. Other trisomy's incompatable with life seem to be consistent with a much nuchal of say 6mm+. Where are you based? I hope you get your result soon I felt much better knowing there was only one marker, before you know your score is the worst worrying alsorts
Ah I'm a bit further south but hopefully you won't have long to wait for results either then, things get a bit clearer after when you know what you're faced with and you can decide your way forword. Fingers crossed for you, let us know x
One of my best friends now 2 year old daughter had NT of 3.7. they had CVS as bloods weren't great either. She's totally healthy - they had extra scans because of the higher NT even though the CVS was normal in case of heart problems but all was well. Hope you get similar outcome.
I had my scan on Monday and had exactly the same - 3.7mm. We decided to have the cvs which was booked for Wednesday. We got the preliminary result yesterday and all seems fine thankfully (and we were told we're having another boy!!).
Need to wait 2 weeks for official results and then need an additional scan at 16 weeks to check the heart but hopefully that'll all be fine - feeling more confident now. So fingers crossed it will all be fine for you too!
My nieces was around this measurement and my SIL had the cvs. Her chances of downs for this baby was 1 in 35. There was no abnormalities and negative for everything on the cvs. Shes 7 now and as healthy as healthy can be!
