Hi ladies, I went for my nuchal scan and blood tests today. Thought I'll get my blood results on Monday, my obgyn told me that my baby's nuchal measurement is 1.8mm and is good. I'm 13w6d, 36 years of age. If the measurements are good, should i worry about any other chromosmal abnormalities if Down Syndrom is low? What does it all mean? It's my first pregnancy and still learning.

Im not sure hun, but I would take the lead from your doctor, if they are happy then its i'd be happy too :)

36 is a lovely age to have a bubs - and not "old" - my mum had my little brother at 36 and He is a big bossy 12 yr old now! totally healthy! Good luck hun

Hi JaniceT

I am 36 too and due to have my scan next monday and will be 12 + 5 by then, starting to get nervous about what it will show.

congrats on having a happy scan, sounds like you can relax now and enjoy being pregnant!

mushmouth, thanks dear :)

HoolenT, all the best for your nuchal scan on Monday!

I'm just concerned because there are so many other chromosomal abnormalities other than Downs. My niece has a host of mental issues, from mild autism to dyspraxia (not dyslexia) even though she physically looks like a normal child. The stress that my sis-in-law goes through is incredible.
