Nuchal transluency 5mm

I am 31 and pregnant for the first time. Two days ago I had my ultrasound at 13 weeks and everything was going well until the meassured the neck. First they said itnwas 4,2 and next time they said 5mm. Inhad my blood test before which didnt show anything. They also found some liquid around the lungs. Theymsaid there is a 50% chance there is nothing. But if there is something the risk of DS is 25%. I did a CVS test and have to wait until Monday for the first result. Anyone else experienced this? I feel like I want to jump in fron of a train right now.....

hi ... i had my cvs a few weeks ago and ill never forget hiw horriable the wait for the fone call was ... i hope you get a gud result my baby also had a 25% chance of being sick like his big bro but he isnt he is nice and healthy so try stay positive i know its hard c

Hi there, I had a nuchal measurement of 10.6mm, It was huge, My wee girl had Edwards syndrome. I have heard of lots of babied who have had high readings and had nothing at ll wrong. I hope your wee bub is one of them x

Thank you everyone for being there. We got the first results today which tested negative for 18, 21 and 13. It is such a relief! Now they are testing for less common chromosonal changes and we have to wait 2-3 weeks.

I'm thinking of everyone who's been in the same situation.

Hi guys, I'm currently going through similar, my NT is 3.5 And I have the CVS in the morning. Any advice appreciated x

All chromosones came back normal. We did. Follow up scan now at 18 weeks which showed still a nt at 7. It should only be 6. There were also some liquid around the kidneys. We are seeing a genetic expert next week. I'm so tired of this, just want to enjoy the pregnancy.

I so know the feeling and its horrible. With my first baby she had hydrops fluid around her chest and abdomen of dangerous levels (she is now a healthy 1 year old after an 8 week stay in intensive care) and now this baby has a high nuchal translucency of 8mm! All is fine on CVS but it's horrible waking every day and not knowing if baby is well. I did it everyday with my daughter and everyday with this pregnancy! I just wanted to be able to enjoy it!

the Nuchal transluency test is part of a lot of controversy....in fact it has a lot of false positives. The results are not even valid after 13 weeks and 6 days so I don't even know why they are stressing you with a follow up one...specially now that all the other tests are negative...a big

Hey... I a almost 11 weeks. They measeured my baby's skin to be5mm. I reside in Saudi arabia so we dnt hav an option for CVS but they do aminocentesis ovr here. But agn we hav been warned about the risks involved with the test itself so we r nt really upto it. We hav till week 16 to rethink.
Hoping the best for u. It sure is smthng that i cnt stop thinking about i was only worried about not having a miscarriage like the two times i had. This will b my fst child if god wills. Really want it to be healthy.
