We like the name Nylah but not sure if it's a little too out there:) I like quirky names but have had this on my list for a while so it doesn't seem that unusual to me anymore. I'm curious what first impressions are. My other daughter is Corryn andfamily accepted her name fairly quickly :)

I love it but I'd spell it Nyla as I think it looks prettier. Also love Nola, though I guess it doesn't work as well in the US (if that's where you are) as in Europe.

Agree with the spelling it's s lovely name x

Thanks ladies...I prefer your suggested spelling too :)

My first thought was The Lion King - but then I realized that's "Nala" not Nylah. I like it - it's pretty. I like either spelling.

I like it! One of my employees is named Nyla, so I'm used to that spelling. She is older and in Canada, but I am drawn to more classical names ( or old fashioned, as my family says)

Gorgeous
My Aunt is called Nyla and I think it's so pretty
If it wasn't my aunts name I would have used it but it's very similar to my daughters name (Isla)

I write stories and one of my characters is named Nayla, I always loved that name and all variations of spelling! I think it's not that weird too.

Thanks to everyone for their replies....my little lady has appeared and we've decided to go with the name. Glad to hear that others have heard of the name before. As we are in the UK it doesn't seem common but we love it and hope hat when she grows up she will too :)

I love it, although I might add i think it's of Asian decent so may not be as out there as you think. I'd a work experience girl with me for a few days with that name and it suited her to a t. A bit unusual but v pretty.

Just wanted to say that it's lovely to see such nice comments about my daughter's name! She's N.y.e.l.a, but it is pronounced the same as Nyla or Nylah. We chose this spelling (Arabic) because it means 'One who will succeed'.

We have had nothing but positive comments since she was born and I think it's the most beautiful name in the world. :D
