Hi Ladies,

I saw my MW on Tuesday and mentioned that I have had 2 bleeds, she was surprised I had not had a scan for it so said she would refer me for one.

I just received a letter for an OB appointment on the 26th but it does not state that a scan will def be performed? Have only seen the MW so far so I don't really know what to expect.

Any advice would be appreciated.

xx

You could just call them and double check, no harm in that :)

with my ob appointments i have a scan. they usually send you to scan first then into see the ob. but like i say that's with mine not sure if its the same for everyone. id give them a call to check though least you'll know and if your are having a scan you'll know the appointment could take a couple of hours. xx

I checked with the MW and she said that she referred me to a DR to get checked over properly so it will be up to him if I need a scan.

My letter does say it will take at least 2 hours this appointment.

Thank you
x

You will most likely get a scan since thats why you have been referred...especially if the appointment will take 2 hours! eek

I always have a scan before seeing my consultant at clinic. You could phone them and ask what to expect? It may be that the midwife would rather a dr refer you for a scan if they feel you need it, so you may need an initial appointment there first. My letter always states to allow 2 hours for the appointment also, just in case they ard running late, but i'm rarely longer than an hour with appt inc scan :)

My consultant appointment is 2hrs without a scan. Apparently it's up to them if they scan me or not because of budget cuts.
