Oily Substance in Urine!!!! NORMAL!!???

Hey Ladies,


Really need some answers here... Im not sure what is normal or not and will likely call my OB tomorrow just to see what she thinks, but would like some piece of mind if possible before that. For the past few days I have noticed what looks like oily patches in my urine- usually white and jsut stay on top. I have no other sympotms, or pain. I am sure most pregnant women dont examine there pee (lol) but I noticed it and now I am worried that it could mean something is wrong. Has anyone else had this anytime during pregnancy and it was nothing??

I think I know what you mean - there seems to be a shine on the surface of my urine too although I wouldn't say it was white it just has that kind of rainbow effect that oil laying on top of water gives. To be honest though it may well be there all the time, I have just been super conscious of every little change at the moment

im not sure but it might be from prenatal vitamins, im going to have to check my wee next time

Hey ladies,

I'd guess either protein or skin cells. Definitely worth getting checked out anyway in case there is an issue with high protein levels or a UTI. Hopefully not though, I had one at 6 weeks - OMG the pain

Called my OB today and she thinks its coming from my prenatal vitiman. Because I am taking a DHA- ( which is a type of gel pill plus to vitiaman.) She said if I am not having any other symptoms then not to worry. Thanks for your help!

I get it because I eat a lot of cheese it's my only way of taking calcium since I hate milk and yoghurt lol strange but true
