Had an appointment today, I am 22 1/2 weeks preg. she was rushing me through everything as i was the last appointment of the day and she was filling in for my regular doctor who was in surgery all day.

Every appointmnt they make you do a urine sample and I really had to pee when i left school, but i was scared if I went then, I wouldnt have to go once I got to the her office. So as soon as I got there and checked in, they weighed me, and then i went to do my urine sample (thats a whole other story and really funny I might add)

When she finally came in the room I was told to wait in 30 minutes later, she checked my blood pressure, it was good, 120/80, whatever that means and I asked if my weight was ok. She actually shook her head and said NO! I have put on 15lbs. (according to my scale at home its closer to 10, but whatever). In first tri I put on 1 lb. from 13 weeks-18 weeks I put on 6 and from 18-now i put on 8.

Am I gaining too much weight?? all of my friends who have had babies say no, but I am wondering if they say that just because they are being nice... you girls will tell me the truth, right?? Oh and my boobs have gone from barely a C cup to a DD..yikes

You are doing fine overall, but I think she may be concerned about the 8 lbs in the past 4 wks. It could be fluid. Try not to worry, as most of the weight you gain in pregnancy is supposed to come on during 2nd tri. Just keep in mind all that baby needs you to eat is 300 calories above what you would pre-pregnancy. If you are eating healthy foods you will gain what your baby needs.

Ive put on 21lb and no one has commented to me. I have an appointment today with speacialist (AT LAST) and will see what she says.
My bums gone from a 14 to 16+ and my bust 34D to 36 F. Yes F
I had two droopy spaniels ears and no have two heavy water melons:haha:

Because Im near enough house bound Im bored so have being eating lots of food. Plenty of fruit and veg and plenty of Cake too. I know I have got to curb this but I love food at the moment. I bought a Yoga DVD and used it once. Going to try aqua natal to see if that helps.

I wouldnt worry too much.Up to two stone is average weight gain I have read.

I wouldn't worry. I'm surprised my doctor hasn't said anything to me, I've gained 31 pounds so far. And at my last appt. I had put on 4 lbs in 2 weeks. Don't let it stress you out, you look fantastic and as long as you feel good and healthy I wouldn't worry.

Why do they say to gain 1-2 lbs a week and then when you do, they tell you to "watch it"?????

They say in the first 3 months of pregnancy you gain around 5 pds then every week after that is 1 pound per week at 20 weeks they say 10-14pds you should gain so your 15pd at 22 weeks sound normal here is a link to weight info

shouldn't you be able to play catch up if you didn't gain much of anything in first tri? (my 1lb) I know I shouldnt obsess but dang it, she really has me worried that I am on the fast track to gaining 50lbs or something!!

If you you started at a below normal BMI they say to gain 28-40pds if you started with a BMI of normal its 25-35 pds this is by the end of your pregnancy all women are different but 15 pds at 22 weeks is the norm!

I've put on 27 lbs in 24 weeks and have been asking my OBGYN ever month if i should be worried. I have a good appetite but don't consume much processed or junk foods. Doctornaaid it is ok because I started off a little underweight at 51kg or 112 lbs. It is really up to how much you weigh pre pregnancy.

I wouldnt worry about it at all! What you have gained sounds normal! You look amazing!!! Some people (I think) can really put their own fears of gaining weight onto other people! It may be HER issue and not yours! Next time you see your Dr ask him and tell him what she said. It sounds out of line to me because you havent gained "too much" weight at all! Ive always gained most of my weight second tri. It gets harder to eat 3rd tri...

Try not to worry! You and your baby are healthy and thats what matters!!! :hugs:

I am 22 weeks and I have gained 15 pounds. I only gained 5 pounds in the first trimester and the other 10 were in this second trimester.
Everytime I see the doctor they tell me my weight gain is good and not over, and I was over weight by 20 pounds before pregnancy too!

I would double check with your doctor next time you go in.. Don't worry, you're weight gain in perfect!
