One Born Every Minute is back

wow princes// we have a celeb in the ranks!

My partner was going- hes got a deep voice for such a young blokke.. I looked up expecting to see a 40 year old! lol

and I was going ooh look she has the same nightie as me! lol

and its you!

oh its fab.... loved it again.
that woman screamed so much!!

even AFTER the epi!! WTF? lol

That confused me. When she first started pushing she was still shouting a bit but suddenly was all ok.

Some of that must have been for show

Yer I reckon so too.. getting her 15 mins lol

Janet you were really cool calm and collected through that.. well what we saw anyways x

xprincessx - you should feel very very proud of yourself. Ralph too! Whilst miss screachy was screaming the place down, you kept calm, even when things weren't going well and you both left us booing on the sofa! What a lovely record to have!!! My OH decided Ralph was superb!

xprincessx - I know the woman you heard screeching down the hall worried you but now, having been through it, do you think she was just in her 'vocallity' (if thats even a word?)

thanks girls and just to clear up why ralph didnt go in.

Me and my son both nearly lost our lives and in the heat of the moment at the age of 18 (or any age) you'd choose your mum over your boyfriend (who is a teenager) and ralph would have passed out if he went in there...he is very squeamish lol!

i would have picked my mum over my OH too. she would be able to hold herself together more and be more supportive :flower:

Your story was so lovely, and Ralph was so cute! :cloud9:

How did you find it being filmed? Did you get to see it before it aired today? Does it feel weird watching it back again now? Is there anything you would have done differently?

I had it recorded on sky+ and when OH came in I showed him the screamer. His face was a picture lol he couldnt believe someone was screaming so much, he said I was nothing like that. She had pethidine which sent me to sleep and was all dozy with it, dont think it affected her that much.

I did all my swearing and moaning after the epi too. Hateful medication.

I'd have picked my DH now but were I 15 years younger I'd definitely have picked my mum.

Some women go inwards. I think I swore a lot and there were a lot of I can't do its. I don't think I screamed as such, not until pushing but God after 35 hours and it simply not working and needing a ventouse who wouldn't be screaming!

I've got to ask why do they make her stay on her back when she is in so much pain? What happened to active birthing?

I think after so long it's past that stage of continuing with active birthing and they are just trying to get baby out. My LO got stuck when I was in a pool, I was then on a bean bag but then still nothing so I had to go to a new room go on a bed on my back which was the most uncomfy, painful, position for me at the time. Thankfully the G&A made me black it all out, to this day I can't rememeber a thing until it was time to go to theatre.

I wasn't allowed to make noise, they kept on telling me off! I wasn't screaming my head of but even the tiniest of noises got me into trouble, it was annoying becasue I could here others screaming in the ward but I wasn't allowed. I guess at the time you just do what you feel you need to do.

Not sure if this is her reason but when I had an epi I was still in a lot of pain during the birth because they stopped topping the epi up an hour before I started pushing because they wanted me to tell them when I had a contraction not the other way around, & Finley was back to back & it seriously felt like someone was hitting me hard across the back with a baseball bat  not sure if this is why she was still screaming or if she just likes screaming lol I would hate to be their neighbours

I was encouraged to shout
I didn't though, i think i screamed once out of frustration because i was pushing and she was stuck. I also punched the bed once outof frustration as i was pushing and nothing was happening.
I wasn't encouraged to move about, I did that on my own i was on my side, on all fours, standing up, kneeling, leaning against OH, on the gymball. The MW said to me after i had given birth that me moving round was the reason i had such a quick labour.
It was funny, every time she came back to the room she would say "Oooh" cos i'd be in a new position, flashing my bare arse :haha:

:rofl::rofl:
I moved around a lot as well - inbetween asking the midwife did she fancy a cuppa?:haha: I was wishing that girl Steph on the programme would've moved before her epidural!!

Aw, I just watched the episode - your OH is so sweet, I was crying with him at the end! Well done you, and congrats x

I was pushing on all fours over the back of the bed but after quite a long time with nothing happening they said I had to move onto my back (grrr) cos he needed to be born fast x

I ended up giving birth on my back too, which i didnt want as it was the most painful position for me..but when they found out how dilated i was (i was pushing for ages but they didnt believe how far gone i'd got) they got the bloody stirrups out :growlmad:

I am watching now.

The screamer is making Katie scream lol.

V xxx

i think i worked out the reason all on there backs, Im sure on one of the 2009 shows they talked about the rooms and the rooms which are shown are the "higher risk" rooms because they showed one of a women on a birthball and a nice looking room and im sure she went in a bath/pool from the midwife led suites.

And YES i will be watching lol
