On the 14th (CD 11) I used an OPK for the very first time (both clear blue digital and wondfo) I wasnt 100% sure about the wondfo result but got a smiley face. The app on my phone said I was supposed to ovulate on the 22nd (CD 19) and FF said I should ovulate on the 20th (CD 17) since I have a 31 day average cycle. I have had a cycle as short as 28 days in the past 6 months. I have also been taking pregnitude this cycle and not sure if that sped things up.
Since this is my first month temping and the first time using OPKs I was freaked out with the positive OPK on the 14th but I did get a massive temp spike the next day so assumed I ovulated. I also received a positive OPK the day after but assumed that it may have been due to residual amounts of the hormone still in my system. Yesterday I got a negative both for FMU and in the evening. This afternoon I checked again and its positive again.
Technically, it probably should be positive around this time based on my average cycle length if I am going to ovulate around CD 17 but I already had a temp spike.
I am also generally pretty dehydrated. I never drink much (Bad, I know) and my urine is always fairly concentrated but to be fair, it was also concentrated when I got the negative. I may be a bit more dehydrated today than usual since I only drank half a glass of water this morning and 8 oz of coffee all day before taking the test in the afternoon.
I just dont know if I should keep BDing or assume that I ovulated.
I also am not totally trusting my temps. I have been having terrible insomnia this entire cycle so far and have not had a single good nights rest. I am temping after 3 hours sleep but some days its only after 3 hours sleep and sometimes I take a nap then I am up for a couple of hours and then pass out again for a few more hours which may be why my temps are a bit all over the place. I have been testing within 2 hours of the same time every day.
I am totally stressed out now, I am paranoid that I am not ovulating at all and I am not sure what to think. I don't know if I need to keep BDing just in case or relaxing and not stressing out over it.
Is it normal to have a positive OPK after a temp spike?
