Hi Ladies,

I'm hoping your collective experience can help me.

We have our follow up appointment tomorrow at the clinic and I want to go armed with as much info as possible.

Brief history - we've been TTC#1 for almost 2 1/2 years now. We had our first IVF cycle Sept/Oct. I responded very poorly to the highest level of stimms they could give me and produced 4 eggs of which 3 were mature enough and only 2 fertilised. I was lucky enough to get my very first BFP but sadly our joy was shortlived when I miscarried at just 5+2.

This round of IVF was on the NHS - we were sent straight for IVF, no clomid or IUI. We don't have the money, or time to save for another round of IVF so i'm wondering, given that we did get pregnant, what would be the chances of the clinic agreeing to do IUI? We're entitled to 3 free rounds as part of our NHS cycle.

DH has poor SA's (hence us going straight to ICSI) and I have high FSH (10) and low antral follicle counts for my age.

Does anyone think it's worth me going in there and fighting for the IUI or will I be fighting a loosing battle?

Please look into Napro. Watch the video on the link. I'm mainland UK and have travelled to Dublin for this, follow ups are done over the telephone. xx

Hi Cooch, thanks for the response.

I have to say i'm a bit sceptical about this method. I charted, took temps, monitored CM, took OPK's and used a Clearblue Fertility Monitor every month from August 2009 when we started TTC. Not one month of doing this has resulted in a BFP despite us knowing from all these methods exactly when I was ovulating and that we'd timed it right.

I know people do get that elusive BFP after many years sometimes but to me, given the fact that it looks like I could be approaching an early menopause, I don't have the time to try something like this unless it was a last resort.

Or am I looking at this all wrong? I'm genuinely happy to be corrected.

I guess we'll just have to see what the RE says this evening.

Its not just charting. The charting allows the doc to prescribe for what he sees wrong in your chart. Generally what a normal doc will tell you is fine, a Napro doc will know exactly what it is and prescribe to sort it.

Prescriptions can include antibiotics and things to stimulate ovaries and maintain progesterone (that's all I can remember but lots more).

Honestly there are people who have failed at IVF then gone on to have Napro babies.

If its all that's left to try you might as well have a consultation. Its 200 euros and you have to chart, but next to IVF its cheap. xx
