Can you help me with how I organise my wedding I have no idea on timings!

We are getting married at 14.30 and should take half an hour for the ceromony.

The wedding venue is about 30 mins away from the wedding venue.

How much time should I allow for photos and travel etc? I.e. start the reception and meal. Ahhh. Then how long do I allow between my meal and the evening do starting?

Please please help I am clueless lol.

We were told based on a wedding being held at 14.30 the evening reception should start at 7.

Them 4 n half hours include ceromony, drinks & pictures, meal, speeches & thank yous' & then through to the bar for more drinks whilst they set up for the evening. Obv that dont include travelling time or anything as ours is being held in 1 place.

Hope that gives you some idea x

id say probably about an hour for your pics and travel but to be honest im not sure either LOL not much help am i xx

Thanks girls! Maybe half 7 would be a good idea then? Any ideas on what time we should sit down for? xx

our day is set as follows

wedding service 12pm

service should be about 40 mins, then photos outside the church, travel to reception venue (approx 25 mins) and photos outside reception venue/welcome drinks

Wedding breakfast start 3.30/4pm, meal & speakches take 2-2.5 hours, so finish between 5 & 6pm,

then evening reception starting 7:30pm

We are getting married at 3pm, and it will take between 30 - 40 mins. Then everyone is walking 5 mins away for pictures to be taken. I've given us an hour for pictures outside then a 10 minute walk to the venue and 15 mins for pictures inside.

Then we are having drinks first and at 5.30 speeches. Then between 6/6.30 food will be served. and the evening entertainment starts at 8.

We are only having buffet food though so no faffing about between courses.

xXx

This is what I find usually happens with my weddings....

Ceremony- 30/45 mins

Travel time - 30 minutes

Pictures/drinks reception- 1.5 hours

Meal - 2 hours (I did have one where the speeches went on for 2 hours though :dohh:)

By the above, you would look at inviting your evening guests for around 7:30pm with your meal finishing around about 7pm and you evening entertainment starting at 8pm ish. If you're having an evening buffet then a lot of people tend to have it around 9-10pm.

Hey there girly,

We got married at 2pm, was out by about 2:30pm(ish), went for a 20minute drive in our car to have some time to calm down and have some time together.

Went back to our venue for photos and cocktails which was 3pm-5pm(ish) The photos and all the chat took aagggess.

And then sat down for an early dinner at 5pm which lasted a couple of hours, followed by speeches.

Then we sat around drinking, telling stories and just chilling until the early hours.

Thanks everyone, I think we are going to have the speeches before the meal, hopefully then my OH and his best friend will not be as drunk well thats my plan anyway haha.

Haha, good thinking girl! You can then let them slide under the table at their own leisure

I got married at 3:00 pm, ceremony was until 3:45 pm, we had a greeting/receiving line which lasted until 4:15/4:20 pm and then we traveled 10 minutes away for pictures, which in the middle of summer on a VERY hot day lasted about 45 minutes to an hour. First we had some with guests and our parents, then just the wedding group, ending with hubby and I on our own. From there we traveled back to the hall, and had our food set up at about 5:30 pm (during this time speeches were said as well as some more mingling). By the time all that was done our evening entertainment/dance started at 7:30/8:00 and lasted until midnight. Once clean up and take down was complete, as well as loading gifts into cars we were home around 1:30 am.

Hope this helps!

We are getting married at 12pm. Service should be over and done with by 12.45pm, then going to go and have a bit of chillout time for me and OH in the wedding car (the man will drive us to a local beauty spot to get some photos. We will then come back and get photos done with everyone else. This should last about 2 hours. When we get back we will have drinks reception then sit down for our wedding breakfast at about 3.30-4pm by the time we've had meal and everything we should be finished by about 6.30 then evening guests will arrive at 7.30pm buffet will be around 9pm :) xxx
