It works differently here and in our old area you'd be classed as having 2, 1 or 0 housing needs. The vast majority of people would be classed as 1 housing need so we were coming a minimum of 60th and at worst 400th on properties in our borough after 3 years on the list. However there were often new builds in other areas and since no one in our old borough ever wanted to move you'd only get a maximum of 60 people in total bidding on those and they tended to be those newer on the housing list than us. We kept coming 3rd on those places for about a year, then we came 2nd on this place but the housing assoc managing this development took so long to set up viewings that we ended up being the only ones interested in the end. We are really happy with the flat itself but are not happy with the housing assoc, they are a complete joke and have granted secure tenancies to a number of problem families and they are getting away with murder. The lifts are broken constantly and all the landscaping outside is completely trashed. We wanted to do a homeswap but this development is so notorious now that no one will touch it with a bargepole. Anyway sorry to go off on one, in a nutshell if you're coming third now I'd say the maximum would be 6 months to a year, possibly sooner xx
