Our vehicle was stolen today **update page 3**

Oh wow when it rains it pours. I hope you get your vehicle back and all of the belongings.

That's a nice dream but it would take a miracle for that to happen so i wont be holding my breath on that one. It would be perfect if they caught the guy so we could sue his ass. But thats not going to happen either.

Thank you everyone. I just really needed to vent about this. I held it together for most of the day while we did a bunch of running around and making a bunch of phone calls. We spent the day trying to get my husbands ID back, cancelling credit cards, getting a rental car, dealing with insurance, etc. when we got home..I just broke down. It hit me so hard.

I'm dealing with it better now but ugh..I just can't believe it. And to top it off...you don't realize how much paying for insurance is such a scam till something like this happens to you. I feel like we not only got robbed from these idiots that took our car and everything in it but then to feel robbed from your insurance company...that you are required to have no less if you want to own a vehicle here. You pay thousands of dollars a year into insurance for times like these and then when it comes time you need help...you get the "sorry, we can't help you"

We will be getting the book value back for our vehicle so that's at least good.

What happened with your insurance?

It's just their stupid policies. When it comes to just the truck alone being stolen...we get the book value for our truck with only a $300 deductible...but the belongings in the truck, we had to file a separate claim under our house insurance. That's where we got screwed the most. there is a $1000 deductible on that...and tho there was over a thousand dollars worth of belongings in the truck...it's not worth it when we have such a high deductible.

We do have my other vehicle but we have that stored away because it wasn't worth paying insurance on both vehicles. We are most likely just going to sell that and put it towards a new car. The SUV we had was too costly on gas anyway so a car would be better.

We got a call today saying the cops found our truck out of town. they said that my daughters toys were still in it too. The ignition was jammed with a screw driver and we are assuming the door was as well. They said that it was scratched up but that's all we really know at this point.

We don't know how our insurance company is going to deal with this now. I'm sure they will pay the towing fees, repossessing fees, and damages. but when it was stolen, we only had a $300 deductible and now that they found it...we don't know if they will put the $1000 deductible back on. Insurance companies like to mess with you like that.

We should be getting our truck back tomorrow so we will know more after we personally see the damages and speak to the insurance company.

So glad they found it and you're getting it back! I hope the insurance company will fix all the damage for you! I know it's got to be a huge weight off your shoulders knowing you're getting your daughter's toys back, and maybe even all of your possessions that were inside it.

I am sorry about the insurance hoops and nonsense, but I am SOOO happy you guys are getting your truck back and the toys! It would be nice to get the wallet back, but I doubt it, right? :/ But anyway, I am so happy that they followed through and it was found.

I don't mean to sound insensitive by saying this, but even if it is scratched, as long as everything works well still, that's what's most important! Now you won't have to sell your other car (if you don't want to). Yay, I am just so happy...I know from your other posts there is a lot of other stuff going on, but it seems like there have been a few shining stars found among the mess

Well it turned out our daughter didn't get her toys back after all. And also the damages were so much worse then what we were told therefore we don't even get our truck back after all. The "Box" of toys that were claimed to be in the truck were not there at all. They took all the toys and only left a cookie dog toy and the truck inside was so disgusting.

On a happier note..we just found a new car that we really love. We just hope nothing happens to this one!

That's exactly what I'm thinking...since the truck was found, there have been so many people in and out of that truck. We drove all the way down to the impound where they were holding the truck, which is out of town where the truck was found... just to get the toys and they weren't even in there. More money wasted.

So sorry to hear about this!!! Bad things always seem to happen in groups! Here's hoping your luck will turn around soon - and those nasty vile people that took your things will get what's coming to them. surely things will start looking up!
