Ovarian ectopic pregnancy

I pregnant after an early loss in dec. we have two healthy children and I am 32
Years old. Yesterday I experienced a small amount of spotting (tiny). Went to the local walk in part of our hospital where and ultrasound and bloodwork was performed. Betas were 2200 (4 weeks 5 days). Ultrasound was unusual. There was a mass on my ovary measuring 4 cm. an ultrasound done three weeks prior as infertility work up showed no mass. Report said it could be a complex cyst, tumor, or an ectopic ovarian pregnancy. Uterus showe what could be an early gestational sac but also could be fluid in the endometrial cavity? I'm being seen tomorrow with a retest of betas and a repeat ultrasound at my ob office.
My ob called last Night and said he was sure this wasn't cancer due to my previous ultrasound being normal but could not rule out an ovarian pregnancy. Has anyone ever had one before? I so scared. I was prepared for them to tell me yesterday that my betas were low and I was miscarrying but this was all unexpected.

Oh goodness, that's scary news! I hope the next ultrasound shows more and I certainly hope it isn't cancer! I'll keep you in my prayers.

I was just diagnosed with an ovarian ectopic at the end of August. I had 2 shots of MTX August 27th and my hcg is dropping quickly. I started at 8700 and last week(2 weeks after shots) was at 1011. I go again for bloodwork today. I was wondering how long anyone has waited before starting any type of vitamins? I was told I cannot ttc until December and started the pill until we can decide what to do next. Any advice? This pregnancy was not planned and was on the pill which is why they think this happened. Now, I think I want a baby but am turning 40 and besides birth defects because of my age, I worry about going through this again or effects from the MTX shots.

Hey Applesauce, sorry for your loss. Although my ectopic wasn't ovarian, it was unusual, mine was on my c-section scar. I too had the methotrexate shots.

once your levels are down to less than 5 you can start folic acid again, but don't start before then since folic acid will actually stop the methotrexate from working. I didn't take any vitamins until I was at 0 since I didn't want to chance it not fully working. After that I took 5 mg a day to get my folic stores up as quickly as possible.
