Do you really need the red carpet?

Why are you giving such a choice with the menu? Reduce the options unless its too late - we've got one menu with a veggie option for the main to keep costs down.

Cut the favours..who really remembers them?

Cut down on the gifts...we're not giving any...we not stingy gits but we've done this ourseolves so why give gifts to family/friends who want to be part of the day?

Do oyur own hair & makeup .... or just book into a salon and tell them you're off to a party NEVER tell them its your wedding it puts the price up loads!

We are paying £42 a head for everything basically apart from the evening buffet and Im pretty sure they wouldn't knock anymore off just for the red carpet.

OH's cousin used to do hair so I could ask her to do it for us and my body shop manager will do our makeup I think.

We will probably bluff the amount at the evening do to save a bit of money but as I said before we are supposed to have a minimum spend of £3750 because of the package so not sure if they will let us cut down things like that.

Its always worth a try, if they want your custom they'll negotiate.

If you cant negotiate with the venue then you can be more creative in other areas!

do your own invitations and favours - you'll save a fortune!

Thanks to chuck sending me a website I am now going to be able to make all my invitations for less than £50! Thank you so much chuck

Today I am going to email the lady at the hotel and explain about our budget problem and that we are going to have to have less people attending and drop some costs in places.

Thanks Mynxie, also thanks for the offer of the flowers but OH's Aunty has offered to do them so it saves postage, but thank you again xx
