Would anyone like to make a group for weight gain thru there pregnancy?
I am rather over weight and didn't want to gain very much at all but my body seems to gain lots and fast when I'm having a baby.
I started at 111kg and By 16weeks I only gained 1kg which I was pleased with. Had my 26 week appointment yesterday and iv gained a further 6kg so I'm not happy with  but it's done now.
How's everyone else getting on :flower:

I'm overweight as well (technically, I'm considered obese but I overlook that lol). At 20 weeks, I had gained 9 lbs. My doctor was very pleased. Yesterday, at 24 weeks I have gained another 13 lbs! Its crazy! I know I've eaten some junk, but I feel like not that much has changed in my food routine from the first 20 weeks to explain such a huge gain. I'm starting to swell so I'm hoping that is part of the problem.

I've just decided to have a pity party for a day and then really focus on picking healthy choices 90% of the time as well as increasing my activity with light walks and swimming to hopefully help with my swelling. My mom and OH both tell me that my belly looks bigger but the rest of me seems about the same so that is good to hear. I believe them too as all my clothes are fitting the same. I can still even wear some non-maternity dresses. I just don't want it to become an obsession. My body really gains easily which is annoying.

I'm glad I'm not alone. They say cos you start over weight you shouldn't really gain but it's so hard when u naturally gain anyway quite quickly. I gained 4 1/2 stone with dd although I weighed a lot less than do now I just can't afford to gain anywhere near that again :-(

Snap! I weighed just under 15 stone before pregnancy now I weigh 16.8 :( I'm hoping its a lot of water as my hands, wrists and ankles are swollen all ready, just hope I don't gain much more, with my DS I gained 4 stone but was lot slimmer back then, xx

I read I should only gain 2kg more. 9kg max cos my bmi is over 30 and iv gained 7 alread.
I cant see me doing that :-(

My doctor told me not to gain weight. I was ok until I just put on bed rest. My nausea got better when I got to 16w and I also became really hungry (for example, it's 4:30 a.m. and I'm up because I'm so hungry... again) so I gained like 10-15 lb. Hopefully I'll be able to walk again soon to try to control my weight a bit better.

I have gained 6lbs in 18 weeks. I am trying not to gain to much since I know it piles on at the end. Especially with growing twins. I had lost 10 lbs in the 6 months prior to pregnancy just by some portion control. I have an exercise bike but keep avoiding it. I definitely need to keep active and I'm hoping to not gain more than 25 lbs. Although Even my Singleton pregnancies I gained at least that. I did indulge myself on desserts though. This time I am taking my vitamin everyday and watching the amount of food I am eating.

I had lost about 2 stone before getting pregnant and at the beginning of pregnancy was doing okay but now I have gained quite a lot quite quickly.

Frustratingly the only thing that seems to help morning sickness is carbohydrates and in the morning all I can ever manage is toast :(

With a bad pelvis meaning I'm not able to walk much, it's definitely piled on quicker than I'd like!

I'm trying to make some changes though to manage it as best I can for the babies health and mine. I've gained 10lbs so far, probably more like 11-12 now but hoping to try and slow it down by making better choices when snacking in the middle of the day and night.
Luckily my sickness has reduced a bit so although I don't foresee anything better than toast for breakfast, I can manage better choices past midday.

Hi ladies im 13 weeks so bit behind u i was dead on 19 stone when i found out i was doin ok i lost a little but then it went back on so quick iv been 'lucky' because i have had sickness and diarrea (however its spelt) so i lost 8lb in 2 weeks but im terrified its all going to go bk on when i stop feeling so ill :( xx

Will anyone else be having a c section? I'm extremely nervous about mine with me being so over weight this time xx

Catmummy, sorry you have sickness. I lost weight with it too but now gained unfortunately. Hopefully will be different for you - well, in a safe way!

bundle4me, I am potentially having a c-section because of long term issues with my pelvis & back. I'm not really clued up on it though. Have they said anything to you about anything you can do to help it go as smoothly as possibly, with regards to your concerns?

Not really just that they do them every day so don't worry. Iv had 2 previous sections my first I was very slim so this was fine. My second I was over weight so the epidural was quite hard for them to get in and a few weeks after it i ended up on antibiotics due to an infection which was caused by my over hanging belly  this time I'm even more over weight and 4 years older so I'm worried about anything going wrong xx

Thank you. I try not to think about it much cos I get a bit of anxiety when I do think about it x

It does sound really natural that you are anxious. I'm very worried for mine although a lot of that is to do with my back and whether an epidural will work/cause a problem as I have a slipped disc and have lost 2 inches in height. Bad timing with pregnancy!!

I agree that keeping busy sounds like the best thing <3 I'm sure the Doctors and Nurses do know what they are doing and will do their very best to make sure you are kept as safe as you can be.

I started out this pregnancy considered technically obese but seeing as i dont look obese i consider myself overweight only! But from the first weigh in I was under 5 pounds my last doctors appointment. I have gained 2-3 pounds these past 3 weeks and honestly i dont know how. Im eating so much healthier (green smoothies as nearly half my lunch and breakfast and more veggies). I really dont want to gain crazy like I did with ds (45 pounds from 20 weeks on). But I'm afraid at this rate thats where I am headed! Luckily I dont have any severe cravings most of the time, just some hunger on occasion to rival a competitive eater!

Lokatyve tht made me laugh i feel like that take few mouthfuls thn im full x

Do you ladies get weighed at every appointment? I do and it feels like I'm at school it's so bad. I was there last week and I'm there next week again for bloods, just hoping iv not gained again otherwise I may get my wrist slapped haha
