over weight mummy's to be

Thankfully I don't get weighed each time either. Poor you!x

Your so lucky I wish I never although maybe it will do me good and discourage any unhealthy snacking (she says drinking a chocolate milkshake) haha

Lmao at th end of the day theres always been someone bigger helps me when i start to feel embarasd x

Well happy to say at my last midwife appointment at 26 weeks I'd gained overall 7kg and she wasn't pleased but when she weighed me today exactly 2 weeks later I'd lost 3kg so iv now only gained 4kg woohoo. How is everyone else doing xx

I'm still not the weight I was when I found out I was pregnant as I lost so much in first tri, I'm still about 2kg off. Not that the midwife was as happy as I was that I had lost weight for a change ><

Midwives are harsh either way. I'm not sure there's ever any winning!

I was 106kg pre pregnancy and now I'm 111kg at nearly 30wks, hoping not to gain much more!
And planning on losing weight afterwards anyway but I don't want birth to be harder than needs be! X

You've not gained many kg at least. Yes birth and being over weight is my worry x

I started my pregnancy about 35 pounds overweight and I'm now up to the highest weight of my entire life....and only 23+5 tomorrow :'( It was devastating seeing my weight at my last appointment and extremely terrifying knowing I will tip the scale at 200 pounds next visit, probably :( Started at 185, was 196 at the last appointment. That's 11 F'ing pounds so far. It doesn't sound like much yet but by the time I'm term I'll probably have gained 30. That means when baby is born I'll have 60-70 pounds to lose. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I was being really good about what I ate but I can't really ignore the sugary stuff I've snuck in now and then...daily......and it's caught up to me now. Really worried about the havoc I'm reeking on my body!!! Waaaaah!! But i can't wait to meet my precious Vivian in a few more months!!!!!!!! :)

I have only gained 1lb since I got pregnant. Probably all that sickness. It's so hard and they seem to be on top of you all the time about it :-/

Can I join you ladies?

My BMI was 37 at first weigh in (I think it was 35/36 with my first baby). Bit gutted as I'd hoped to be slimmer but after a super early loss last summer I'm just so happy this one has stuck. I've been trying to maintain a better diet and exercise (had lost 8lb after Christmas and before getting pregnant). Since I hit second tri I have been a lot better with food (1st tri is always hard for some reason!) but unfortunately my walking has come to a near halt because my SPD is back again. Decided to weigh myself yesterday and I was delighted that I've actually lost a lb off that original weight, obviously the better diet is helping! It renewed my determination to keep on top of things. I know it can't continue and as baby gets bigger I'm bound to gain but hopefully if I keep focus I can keep that to a minimum. Want to be healthier when this bub arrives!

I think it's helping that this baby seems to have me craving salad! :D

Well done with the weight loss!!
And well done with the healthy eating through your pregnancy. I'm trying to eat healthy but don't always make good choices  i am starting swimming in a couple of weeks and will try and keep going till I'm ready to pop haha

I'm totally with you ladies! I'm 14 weeks, but so far I've lost close to 20lbs. It wasn't intentional. I've just been more active and trying to make good food choices. I just am really determined to not let my weight affect the health of my baby or the birth. I'm still considered in the "obese" category, my bmi is 33.
Surprisingly, my doctor never talks about my weight nor do the nurses. When they take my weight they write it down but never say it out loud. The only reason I even know my bmi is because it was on my appointment summary print out I recieve at my appointment. At my 14 week appointment this past week she mentioned that from here on out I'm supposed to gain 1/2 a pound per week until the end. That was the only time weight was ever talked about. I guess I feel lucky that my doctors aren't constantly bugging me about my weight. This is my first baby and when I first found out I was pregnant I was stressing so much that they would make a big deal about my weight, but so far so good.

I had the same concerns about the Drs etc being rude about my weight. So far, the only person who has been rude - and not to my face! Was the sonographer at my dating scan. Baby was showing us his bum, so he couldn't get the NT measurement.. He put on my notes that it was a bad position & my weight that prevented the NT screening being done! How rude :growlmad: Because if I'd been thinner, you'd have been able to do the measurements with the baby in that position? I don't think so!

Apparently they are rude to everyone though.. I have had a couple of private scans & at my last one (the gender scan), told the sonographer about the experience at the hospital & she said they get a lot of people complaining about that hospital! People of all sizes too. They managed to get perfect images too.. Lol.

The sonographer at the hospital looked like Nigel Farage.. It was bound to be all downhill from then on :haha:

So far, I've gained 6lbs. I'm a bit annoyed.. I'd managed to stay around 4lbs for ages! I want to lose a couple of lbs if I can.. But I'm not overly bothered. I've had to eat food that's mainly bad for me because of morning sickness. Salad, meat, veg, fruit.. It's all out! Sigh.

Charmed86 we are due on the same day!!

I also lost 10 pounds during the early stages of pregnancy....a hormone surge I think. Since then I have gained all of the 10 back, but I am even for weight at 20 weeks. My doctor made a comment at my last Ob appointment. I asked him what he was complaining about considering I have gained precisely 0 pounds at the half way mark. I looked at him as though I expected an answer. He shut up. I have thyroid disease and was thin before that, so I am officially done with the fat shaming (I went from 135 pounds to 195 pounds when my thyroid broke about 8 years ago). To think that I used to think that larger ladies were responsible for their own self-esteem issues. Bullshit. Now I know the truth.

Vivian wat a beautiful name! Well i just weighed myself in lb and its hideous think il stick to stones its not as scary!! X
