I have to walk my son to school 5 days a week, while pushing Sophie in her stroller (she's heavy and it's kinda heavy). It's about 2 hours total a day, and the worst is the afternoon. It's summer here and I feel like I'm getting too hot, I leave the house at 2:20pm to get him and the sun is fierce. I'm dripping with sweat when I get there and my heart is thudding and I'm puffing (there are a few steep hills).

Any tips for keeping cool? I had to stop on the way back home under a tree with the kids because I felt terrible! I'm worried the baby will get something wrong with it.

Wear light colored clothes.

Stay hydrated

Bring a umbrella to protect you from the sun.

They sell cooling towels at most retail stores like WalMart. The part you want to keep cool is the back of your neck where the top of your spine is. This area helps cool the body.

Also they sell spray mist fans that work really well.

I live in south Texas and the heat is no joke here.hope this helps

I live in the uk so no where as near as hot. But when I was heavily pregnant with my son in the summer, the only way I could go out walking was whilst eating ice lollies! It helped me stay cool and hydrated, but didn't make me feel like I'd wet myself haha

Don't worry! I just got over a fever of 40 for 2 days straight and was taking boiling hot baths to stop from freezing. You're fine :)
