Hi all im in need off some advice i had a d&c 15 days ago and since the bleeding stopped have been doing ovulation tests i had a negative pregnancy test on monday so i know my pregnancy hormones have gone. But i thought you were supposed to be extra fertile after ovualtion so am just wondering why i havent ovulated yet if your supposed to be extra fertile.
Does anyone have any advice or been through anything similar.
We really want to start trying again asap but am starting to worry why im not ovulating??? thanks xxx

I had a MC and a ERPC Op on 18 February. I bled for a week and think i ovulated yesterday but not 100% sure of this. There is lots of conflicting advice online about when a lady will ovulate post MC as it really depends on the individual. Alot of ladies will not get a period/AF until about 4-6 weeks after the MC,sometimes longer. They will ovulate 14 days before this.

Its really guess work in that first month which is why they ask us to wait until our cycle recommences so they can date it all. Its up to you when you want to try again but if its in the first month after a MC i would suggest just trying every other day for the best chance of conceiving.

Good luck and im sure ovulation day is just round the corner xx

I started charting my bbt again on Friday (a week after I mc'd) I'm hoping that will give me a clue as to what is going on... That and as soon as I stop bleeding I'm going to start trying like crazy..

wishing you lots of luck hon.

 xx

The ovulation and extra fertility have nothing in common. It all just depends on when your cycle kickstarts again and very often it can take a while as your body has been through quite a journey over the last few months.

As far as being extra fertile. I did some research way back after my first mc and the fact is, the reason they say you are extra fertile mainly stems from you actually having gotten pg- ergo you are fertile- not because you are actually any more fertile now than you were before you got pg.

However, there is some info out there that suggests that the reson some women mc is because your body viewed the embryo/fetus as a foreign body (being half from OH). And as such, you are more likely to stay pg next time as your body will recognise the pg this time.

In any case..you will ov in due time and im sure when all is right again you will fall pg and have your baby. Hopefully sooner rather thsn later! :)

Hugs, Omi xxx

Ok, I'm starting to struggle with all the abbreviations etc you're all using. What is bbt? for example

Hi Chilli - and everyone

bbt is basal body temperature (i.e. the resting temperature girls measure when they chart their temperatures to look for the rise that's supposed to happen after ovulation).

I picked up this thread because I had a very early natural m/c just over 2 weeks ago and am also wondering about ovulation - I think I may have ovulated this weekend, but I guess there's no way of knowing for sure, aside from actually getting a BFP!

Good luck xx

Ok, BFP I think I know what it means but what does it stand for? Where do you all get these from, I feel like the dumb one

Chilli, see if you go to the main b&b page, towards the top theres's a section that explains all the abbreviations...dont worry, you'll get the hang of it soon enough :) BFP, Big Fat Positive...

:happydance:Just wanted to update have had a TLP on my ov stick today so hopefully the eggy is on her way!!! so its been 17 days today since my d&c.
Yeah !!!!!!! hopefully i will get another BFP again soon for those still waiting it will come i was starting to think it wouldnt !!
