ovulation help

Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me out here. FF gave me crosshairs on CD16 which is wen it says I ovulated last cycle but I'd never had positive opks before so they was only based on bbt. My problem is I'm starting to disagree and here's why. Mid afternoon on CD16 AT 1PM I took an opk and it was almost positive so most likely turned positive later on, I didn't get chance to try again that day. next day i thought to myself il just try an opk but expecting to have missed the surge but it was clear as day positive confirmed with clear blue. Bd that night then next morning took another opk and again it was positive again confirmed with clear blue. Of course 3rd day it was negative. I know they say u usually ov 12-24hours later after a positive opk but they also say they egg is released when lh peaks which would mean the darkest opk right? This was CD 18 going off the clear blue test sticks (I use smiley one) so what does everyone think because ovufriend and count down to pregnancy agree on CD 18 making me 8dpo not 10. Sorry I don't have any useful advice - but I've just started temping and just ordered my first OPKs, so I'm curious what other people have to say.
