Ovulation test stips - one day dark, next light, next dark..and so on..meaning??

I have very long/irregular cycles and have just started using ovulation test strips.

The results vary from day to day greatly. One day it will be dark (almost positive), next I test and can hardly see the line, then again test and get dark (almost positive), then again on next day I test and its hardly visible...

I always test at the same time of the day.

Anyone know what this means? Very confused..

Im no pro hun, but this happens to me to i think im getting close then barely visable line the next day, i think our bodies are gearing up then change their minds lol i had it all this month too and like u my cycles are really lomg thought i wasnt ovulating but on cycle day 34 i got a positive, keep testing hun im sure ull get ur pos soon xx
