Ovulation test

I've been testing 3 times a day. My clearblue dual hormone with my FMU as the instructions say and with cheapie ones midday and at night. This morning I got my peak fertility on my CB test but was sceptical as my CM isn't ewcm as I thought it should be (but I don't know what my cm is around ov as it's my first month TTC after NTNP for a while) so I tested at midday again with my cheapie and got a negative? So now I'm confused. Which one should I believe. I can't test using my CB one for 2 days so should I just carry on twice a day with my cheapies til that one says positive or go with my CB one?
We are trying to hit OV as close as possible to sway for a boy in a all girl family for generations otherwise I'd just BD every other day and just go with the ov test to confirm.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
