breastfeeding has been so good for us but about two weeks ago, louie got his two front (bottom) teeth
he has really taken to biting me, and it hurts even more than i imagined! he has drawn blood twice today and i find myself really tense when he is feeding (which i KNOW is bad)

i tell him no, firmly but not shouting and refuse him the nipple for a about minute but he still nibbles it - even if he is still having a good feed

words of encouragement needed ladies, please help me through this, i really dont want to have to stop - will he learn?

Have you tried putting him on the floor for a minute when he bites? I'm sure it will just be a phase. My lo got her bottom teeth at 5 months, shes caught me a few times but i'm dreading any more teeth appearing!

I did a very similar post when Daisy got her bottom two teeth a month or so ago. She occasionally still bites but very, very rarely now.

Jchihuahua, did you just say no? what was your plan of action?

I would unlatch her as quickly as I could whenever she bit usually saying ow ow as it hurt so much and then would latch her on again. She just seemed to get used to feeding with teeth and once the novelty had worn off she was more interested in getting milk again than she was in biting.

it really isnt pleasant is it! i the novelty does wear off!
