My OH works for a security firm called Constance, and for the past 10-12 months, he has been on the same regular shift patten (6nights on, 3nights off) 12hour shifts, so had a farely regular income. Before that, he was here and there every night and the income wasn't really regular and changed every month.
Well he just got to work tonight, there has been rumors that the site he is currently at will be closing as the compony they are working for will be getting CCTV and only need 2 of the other guards out of the 4 already on it.
SO despite supervisors/managers telling my OH anything, one of the guard who they will be keeping at the site has informed him this evening, that Sunday night is the last night for the "night" security guard...which would be my OH!
He is extremely pissed off that, one: nobody has been told officially untill today, and then its only been the 2guards they are keeping on that have been informed. and Two: He has not got a clue where he is going to be after Sunday night, surely management should have contacted him and let him know BEFORE telling the guards they are keeping on.

    Iv never liked the compony he has worked for, and thought they was getting abit more organised then what they used to be when they put people on regualr sites, now they seem to be going back to being unorganised.
I feel abit better now I have had my rant :D

Erm, they should give him notice actually. It's law, if he's signed a contract and it should state about how much notice they have to give him. If there are breaking that, you can sue. :)

Im going to find his contract out tomorrow and have a read of it (he's dyslexic, so asked me to have a check off it) and trust me if it states in there they should give notice, he will be on the way of suing, or at least putting a complaint in.
Where's if it states that they can change the site he's on when ever they feel like it, I guess theres nothing we can do.
Iv told him to ring them when he gets up tomorrow and find out what's happening, and ask to be put on a regular site that is close by, especially in August! I don't fancy him being MILES away when I go into labour as I REALLY want him to be there and so does he.

his work decided to ring him today!
They are planning on putting him on a site where he will work days at the weekend, and a few nights during the week, but it is local!! He's asked them tho if he could do a 4on, 4off site doing nights, as this will be alot easier for us and wont need changing anytime soon, as he'd rather just do nights, instead of switch from nights to day, and have a baby to cope with crying.
If they can't get him a 4on 4off tho Iv told him e's to take what he has been offered, because I dont want him to be working away when I go into labour, and that would just be my luck!
Thanks for your replies :)
