pain/ache in kidney area at 32 weeks....

Hi all, I'm 32 weeks tomorrow and for the past few days I've been waking up around 4am with period type cramps but thought it felt more like braxton hicks as it went around my bump. It also feels like it wraps around to my back and especially in my kidneys. Feels like someones kicked me hard on both sides! So I thought it was due to me needing to wee, but once I've been, the pain is still there and I can't get back to sleep! It's now 6am and I'm wide awake! Anyone else had something similar? Is there a need to call midwife about it? I'm sure I'm drinking enough as I'm on taking iron twice a day and bp tablets 3 times a day as well as drinking normally. X

Call your mid wife sounds like a kidney infection! You don't want to go into pre term labor better safe then sorry.

Thank you. The pain / ache subsided by around 8.30am this morning so think I'll call if it happens again tomorro. X
