Has anyone seen the 2017 Park Christmas Savings advert?

Basically it outlines that Mummy is putting out the presents in the stockings and eating the snacks put out for Santa and gets caught by the kids

Does anyone have any opinions on it. I think its totally uncalled for and my sister has made a complaint to Park about it but they say no one else has complained. It was aired on Tiny pop around 4pm on Friday evening and my nephew who is 5 said "oh mum so its you who buys the presents" quickly followed by "and do you eat the treats too?". Obviously my sister is devastated and is trying to limit the damage caused by him seeing this.

Id be interested to see other peoples opinions on this advert.

I've not seen it and can't click the link. It would be fine if it was shown in the evening between programmed for adults but showing it in the day on a children's channel seems very odd!

I seen this too, thankfully my very intelligent 5 year old didn't. I could understand if it was on later in the evening as pp said but to show when kids are obviously going to see it seems very weird indeed!

xx

I haven't seen it but from the description I think it's pretty crap to show "mum" as doing it all as well, even if that is more common there's no need to perpetuate that idea as the norm, like the bloody "mum's go to Iceland" crap. But yes exposing Santa is also bad form.

I haven't seen this yet. I would hope that this is shown in the evening as it would be sad for children to catch on to it :(

Tiny pop have now pulled the advert following our complaints but it's shown right throughout the day on other channels from what I can see. It aired on itv2 yesterday morning several times.
I strongly disagree with this advert - very strongly. I think that it's totally vile to spoil Christmas and santa for young children. I suppose it's the wavering children who are most likely to have their suspicions confirmed and I think that's very sad.

Oh that's not ok :(
We only watch Netlfix and Amazon at home so I've not come across it, I'll have to warn his Dad when he's at his house not to let him see it. Why would they want to spoil the magic?

It does give the game away doesnt it, it would definitely finish off the last bit of whati f that my slightly older children would have. Who did you email at Park?? Maybe they could alter it a bit and show mummy helping santa with the stockings and mince pies:)

Completely out of order, especially on a children's channel. Not happy.

Wow, I hope that gets changed, I want my kids to believe until they are 10, lol.

Saw the advert yesterday! Not on at all really, I saw it on itv2 luckily belle was playing in her room.... I would be gutted if she saw it! By the looks of it lots of unhappy parents have posted on their fb page too

Can anyone who thinks this ad should be pulled please make their feelings known to park please. They are saying they've no complaints.

I just went on their fb page to complain and they'd posted this response to someone: Just to let you know we’ve listened! As a result we’ve been busy in the background amending our ad which will be ready to air in a few weeks’ time. In the meantime, the ad will remain on TV but will be removed from channels aimed at children, as early as this weekend. Furthermore, we intend to remove the ad from facebook and will repost when the new ad is available.

Olivia isn't old enough to understand and I saw the advert this morning and it made me so sad. Why on earth they thought an advert like that would be well received :grr:

I just hope not too many children have seen it :nope:

Glad they have listened. I really don't see why they thought that advert was even acceptable in the first place :nope:

PayPal did exactly this last year and got lots of complaints too. It was quite a big story so I don't believe for a second park didn't know. It's like they knew it would get people talking.

I agree with Tasha. Probably a planned publicity stunt at the expense of young children. I've never used Park and never would but I hope it backfires for them and they lose people's custom.

I haven't seen the ad and the link says it has been removed. I hope it's removed before my LOs can see it. Someone already told my eldest Santa isn't real and thankfully he just said the boy was stupid and carried on believing but if he saw that I don't think he would anymore!

Just seen the advert on the tv this morning! Luckily Holly was at school :x

That's terrible, they should have been pulling it straight away though, plenty of kids watch non-childrens channels! I agree that they must have seen it coming and did it as a publicity stunt, I've never used them before and they've definitely put me off considering them in the future.

This makes me so so mad. We as parents have to work so hard to keep the magic of Christmas, and then big companies go doing bloody silly things like this
