So, i've just got a parking ticket. I was parked outside my house on a single yellow line, your not meant to park there between 11 and 12 during the day. Thing is, i couldn't park on my driveway because my neighbour has massive trucks and lorries, and they block up my driveway. So yeah, couldn't park on my driveway, so parked outside instead. Just wondering if anyone knows anyway i could get out of the ticket? The ticket says i was witnessed parked there between 11:14 and 11:16, my mum says i can say i parked there because i was desperate for the toilet, so parked there and ran in to the toilet :haha: anyone got any ideas of what i can say? Or do you know if it's legal for my driveway to be blocked by other vehicles? Anything would help, thanks girls :winkwink:

I'm not sure about in the UK, but in the US it is illegal for other vehicles to be blocking your driveway, you could have them towed.

they definitely shouldn't have been blocking your driveway, but maybe ring them up and use the being pregnant and needing the loo excuse? hope you manage to find a way out of it :haha: x

Yeah i'm definately going to use the being pregnant and needing the loo thing :haha:

It is illegal for them to block your driveway and you can have them towed however this does not give you an excuse to park illegally too so i doubt they will waive the fine.

use both pregnant needing the loo and neighbours lorrys as excuses and say i was only a few mins ur sorry but it was an emergency xoxo

I would put a really mean letter through their letter box haha
xx

No, theres nothing you can really do without lying. If you say your neighbors were in your spot they would just tell you that you should have spoken to the neighbors about it. I seriously would talk to them, because you should be allowed some space JUST as much as them. You could lie, but in the end they'll probably still say it was your fault. When we get tickets, even if it WASN'T our fault, we never get out of it.

Could you possibly say that you parked there to go talk to your neighbors about moving so you could go into your driveway? Or would they ask your neighbors if it was true?

I mean it is reasonable for that time limit. You get home see that you can't get into your driveway so you park in the street, get out and go talk to your neighbors about moving their car, then come back to move your car.

I think you could get out of it that way but my second choice is deffintally playing the pregnancy card.

id try for them both, hun use the preggers wee needing line and try for the fact that he was parked on your property its actually classed as tresspassing if you didnt give him permission which yes is illegal hun but just think if you argue this it may cause problems with your neighbour good luck xx

On a single yellow line you are allowed 20 minutes for 'loading', doesnt matter what vechile you were in. Just play the 'loading' card, good luck!
