Passport question...Anyone else heard this??

I hadn't even thought about this. I'm sure it changed and your child will have to have her own passport now - she won't be able to be added onto yours.

I'm not sure if both parents are needed to apply for the passport - especially since he won't be named on the birth certificate anyway and some woman won't be able to get a hold of the father anyway.

there must be a way around it, what if you didnt know the father of your child? which lots of people dont! if your not naming him on the birth certificate then i see no reason why you should name him on a passport application! can you phone them and ask?

Thats what i was thinking, plus some women dont even know who the father is, So what would they do??

Im thinking if he's not on the BC then it shouldnt matter... hopefully!

So much to think about! When shes here ill give them a ring and ask, it doesnt seem right that i need his permission to get a passport, then have him stop me from getting one!

as far as i know, joint passports dont exist anymore, everyone has to have there own now.

but i dont think you need both parents to sign for it hunni. check the website though to make sure

I'm pretty sure that since FOB has no legal relationship with your LO he won't be able to sign it, never mind have to

Yep, you can't have baby added to yours anymore, they have to have their own.

I know you already realised, but I was the only one that signed my daughter's passport.

yeah they dont do that anymore, i was gonna say that he wont be needed if hes not on the BC, but if he is then he will.. but u found out already, lol. x

i thought shed be on mine too, but yeh i had to put pauls details on her form, but i think thats just cos i had access to them, obv if you dont then you wont be able to, but yeh, you know you can sign it yourself by now hehe

when i got joshuas passport they never asked for his dads signiture so i wouldnt worry about it hun x

I think you need the dad's signature when having shared custody. Not when single custody then only your signature is needed.
