Patterned leggings?

Just looking for a bit of help/advice...

DF's birthday is next month and I was going to wear a dress but I really like patterned leggings with killer heals! I just don't know if they would look right on me, normal plain black ones look fine but my legs are chunky and I'm only 5ft. I have bright pink hair now and never wear anything "daring" or colourful so I'm trying to change.

Do you think patterned leggings are a no no for bigger women? I could get away with a size 14 providing they stretch enough, they don't have to be colourful they could be black with a pattern on, I really don't do fashion these days so could I have some help please?

Thanks I think I will try them, love the ones on boohoo! Now to choose which ones, there's so many.
