PCOS discovered at ultrasound...

As some of u are aware my consultant recently dicovered i have PCOS in one ovary, she told me that a calorie controlled diet is the cure and pcos comes and goes from month to month and said i wouldn't need clomid to catch pregnant even though we have been ttc for 4 years, However my GP rang me yesterday andsaid that i have PCOS confirmed at my ultrasound and i need to go see her to discuss it further. Anyone else had this or know what is likely to happen now?! xx

Woop for moving forwards! They might well put you on something like metformin and may well take your weight loss struggles a bit more seriously now. have you had an HSG yet? As you may be referred for that too. Keep me updated though! x

Thanks hun!! yeah they refused the HSG as they said its 'a waste of resources' because they are adamant im too young to be ttc and until im old enough they won't do one grrr xxx

hi i was diagnosed with pcos last june after a scan showed polycysts on my only ovary. i was referred to a fs in aug. she did a hsg in sept, my tube was fine, dh did sperm sample & after it had improved the fs put me on clomid, a low dose of 50mg as it appeared i was ovulating by myself anyway from the day 21 blood tests i had done in aug. i conceived twins on my 4th cycle of clomid & am now 17 weeks pregnant....i dont see the reason why u cant have clomid, u have pcos, have been ttc for 4 years & should be allowed to have clomid! good luck & def push for it if it shows that ur not ovulating xx

Hmm... too young to ttc eh? Sounds like discrimination to me Worth a strongly worded letter to the PCT?
